People don't usually say it out loud, but there's a Nickelodian show called Kappa Mickey where one of the main characters Lily says OMG a lot...

Now I'm agnostic, so I'm not really concerned with whether it's a sin or anything, I'm just curious as to what people think.

and no god wont consider it a sin.. since he has better things to do than watch nickelodian shows and read message boards.

OMG is an acronym for Oh My God and it's the same thing as saying it.
Anyone who says it means Oh My Gosh or anything other than Oh My God is only fooling themselves and are trying to trick the Lord and you know that can't be done. When you write OMG you must know that anyone reading it is going to think Oh My God.
Whether or not it's a sin depends on the writer and what the intention was when it was written.
If you are saying "Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended thee, etc" then it would not be sinful but, when used as an exclaimation, you then have committed the sin of provoking the Lord's name in vain and therefore should seek forgiveness.

Actually saying "oh my God" or "omg" isnt taking the Lord's Name in Vain if you are a believer. Also... "vain" is from "vanity" which is to make one self look good. Taking the Lord's Name in vain, is to use the Name to make yourself look good. And since "God" isn't God's Name, people really shouldn't worry about "OMG"

Whether true or not, I was taught that taking the Lord's name in vain means to die without repenting and accepting Crhist as your savior.
But if you are concerned about offending God, he knows your every thought so if you think Oh my God and say OMG, there's little difference.

Yes. Of course saying "Oh my God" is a sin and yes it is using the Lords name in vain. I feel that if you are not talking to God or about God, you are using his name in vain which is breaking the second commandment.

I personally don't think that saying "Oh My God" is taking the lords name in vain. I think that to take His name in vain would be to use the Lord for personal gain. Or to kill in His name would be to take His name in vain. I bet no one here will agree with me, but that's just my oppinion.

It could stand for
Oh My Grass
or
Oh My Games..

When I want to say something bad like "Oh My f**kin" I DON'T SAY GOD. I DONT SAY Mohamed. I say the next best thing. I say

"Oh My F**kin Michael Jordan"
