My favorite preparation is to open the first third of the husk and remove some of the silk then cut off most of the bottom stalk and rinse under cold water to saturate the husk.
Either put in a 350 degree oven and bake for 35 to 45 mins until brown or even black on the husk. Or put on indirect heat on the barbecue for 35-45 mins.
You can butter and put salt and pepper or butter and put grated parmesan.
The roasting method always brings out th e natural sweetness of the corn. My favorite is the white variety as it is sweeter and less starchy than the yellow.

Fresh off the stalk , in the morning of the day after the silk browns. Shuck it, hand pick the old silk off it, blanch it 2-3 minutes in boiling water, then butter a slice of wheat bread and rub it all over the corn.. eat it while it's still warm.. It's great with fresh raw okra, and red vine ripened tomatoes.

I just had BBQ corn on cob last night all you do is soak it in water with the husks still on for 1 hour then you put it on the grill for about half hour or forty five minutes turning it every eight minutes then remove the husks and roll on butter and add salt its delicious

On the cob, very fresh, only boiled for 5 minutes, with REAL butter and a little salt and pepper. OH MAN

My mother use to first soak it in some water, then boil it in a little sugar, and then put under the grill basting it with black pepper & butter. Delicious. Oh my gosh, Mr Phatt, raw okra? I love okra but only cooked , I can't imagine eating it raw at all.

personally i like to take cob corn, and cut it off with a sharp nife, but ur right too many ways to really have a definate answer

I like corn on the cob with mayonnaisse, parmesan cheese and drizzled with butter! Yummy!

I like to cut it off the cob so it doesn't stick in my teeth. Then I put butter and seasoned salt on it. Yum!
