Military assistance? Whatever for? Israel is more than capable of taking care of itself. They wanted to turn the incident into a full-blown attack....let them deal with it.
We don't have nearly enough manpower, money, or artillery to deal with every incident in the world. How about we let some countries handle their own conflicts, for a change.

Israel is a huge counter balancing act in the middle east. They have nukes which makes countries like Iran and Syria think twice about invading. They are also a strategic partner with the U.S. A lot of people think it was a huge mistake invading Iraq, but look at the current state of Iran. They are headed towards obtaining nukes and that automatically puts them on the same playing field of Israel. Hypothetically, if we had to invade Iran, could we do that without Iraq joining the fight? No, so we took them out first. This will shape up to be world war 3 wether we like it or not. We already learned that by doing nothing is not the best strategy, remember Pearl Harbor? I do think that we should use alot more tact in how we deal with other countries. This would help our image abroad. Look at the leadership at the top. President Bush doesn't think like a normal politician so it causes him to appoint people that think like him which has turned out badly so far.

I think the united states just needs to keep it's nose out of everyone's business. That's why all of the other countries hate us so much! We should just not get into any war unless someone starts one with us.

Absolutely not. We already have our noses in everyone's business. Where it doesn't belong, I might add. Besides, we are already fighting a war. We need to concentrate on getting that out of the way. I say let them duke it out, finish each other off and let it go.

I think we should stay out of it. We can support them from afar. It's their war, not ours. We have have own war going on.
