I just read and commented on this persons question. It really pissed me off...Am I wrong? I would write this woman a book on how wrong she is but I didn't have anymore room on the answer space..lol.

I understand why you are angry, although I dont think you should have lashed out the way you did. I wrote a comment to that woman as well, because she has some serious issues. But to tell you the truth I think you are right, and that women is very, very wrong. I am right-handed and her question really upset me. She wondered if she should spank this child for it...people that react that way over something so silly, shouldnt have kids.

That's incredible how some cultures still living like 100 years ago! I am left hand and I am very proud of that. You have to understand 2 things. In some countries culture is everything, and 2nd there is nothing you can do to wash her brain and make her think right about something she will not understand. Some countries need to progress in so many ways. Don't forget is a third world.

well you cant be pissed because of someone else's ignorance! She's obviously not fit to raise a "healthy" child if she's trying to change a God given way of living for her. It's sad to think of how she will grow up with such controlling parents. wonder if the dad cares. bet he doesnt. I bet she's a control freak and has mental probs.
I think you have to realize that the only person you can control is yourself. Her child will kick her bootie in coming years if she ever knew about that!!!!

This person is very ignorant. I pray for her daughter. My Lord, if this minor thing sets her off to want to spank her daughter then that little girl has a hard life ahead of her.
It is normal to be angry over such an ignorant family. The only thing you can do is pray for the child in this situation.

No, I think you're getting way too worked up over a situation that you have no control over. You have to remember that not everyone lives in our country with our beliefs and rituals. Do I agree with it? Not at all. I would be appalled if someone I knew was doing this to their child, and had no belief system for which to explain it. But, we can't control everybody and their parenting skills. I do, however, applaud you on your passion for the subject. Maybe you could get involved with a program that helps abused children where you live.

I know. I told her that I hoped CPS took her child away from her because she was denying her food because she would not use her right hand. My Great-Aunt was left handed and back in those days teachers would slap their hand with a ruler if they caught them using it. This woman does not deserve to have a child. If it wasn't her being left -handed she would be beating her child for some other "imperfection". We just get some really idiotic people on here.

It would help to consider the culture she is living in. I don't agree with the idea in any way.... I am 3rd generation lefty and proud of the fact, but she is living in a culture where it is considered rude/unlucky/etc to do most things with your left hand. An ignorant, but widely spread belief.
