Steam your face. Do you know how to do this? Boil a big pot of water on the stove. When it's boiling, pour it into a ceramic, or some other type of sturdy bowl (not plastic okay). Next, take a towel and put over your head, and then place your head over the steaming bowl and let the steam open up your pores. This will make it easier to shave. Next, either use an electric razor or straight razor (like they do w/ the brothers in the barber shop). Stroke in one direction. if you have ingrown hairs, gently use pointy tweezers to get them out. Be careful with plain old razors, because black males are more prone to get PFB (or pseudofolliculitis barbae). A very painful skin condition caused by ingrown hairs, and resulting in unsightly facial bumps, pus filled too. Very gross. Finish the shave by applying a hot, wet towel to your face for a few minutes, then follow that by a cooling gel (Neutrogena makes a good one for men). Then, your finished. But, if you are still feeling nervous about your "nappy facial hair," you may want to go do a black barber shop and have them teach you how to shave and recreate the procedure at home.

Go over it with scissors then finish off with razor. If you gonna have facial hair groom it don't let it get that nappy again!
