He's probably going to visit Saigon, and be blown away (figuratively speaking) by what he sees.
During his era in Vietnam, there were tin hut houses and poverty was very visible. Now, Saigon looks like Orange County with practically everything new. He will have to look hard to find anything he will remember from the 60's.
Oh.. And the Viet people are incredibly friendly. They LOVE Americans, and especially Vietnam Veterans. He will likely have a life changing experience there.

While there are still some really small villages, there are also better cities and buildings these days. But it also depneds on where he is going to go. I visited there last year and had a good time and saw a lot of great things.

no problem the Vietnamese have no problem with the USA but if you were french that's a different mater thy blame them they were there from the start .i think your husband would in joy his trip and see how it has change and the views of the people have a good trip

i was watching a thing on national geographic or something about 'nam vets that went back and it said it was great for them,cause it showed them that they really made a difference in that country
