try and hang pictures of Jim Darwin in public schools and insert the words "under ourselves" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Will we try and have a 'thought' session in public schools at the beginning of the day where we have to think about why we are here and what problems we have and how we can fix them.

Just wondering. We are slowly growing in population and it won't be long until we have a majority. Just want to know if we should be as biggoted, ignorant and self-centered as the current majority.

hahaha. I hope you will not be as bigoted as the current majority. It's funny how people came to America to get away from an established church, only to establish their own churches. Some came to get away from persecution, only to come here and persecute others. Please don't be like them! ;-)

I don't think we will ever be the majority. Religion has been around a very long time and will continue to be. As far as calling Christians, since they are the current majority, bigoted, ignorant and self-centered, that is pretty close-minded and generalized. The majority of Christians are great people, just like the majority of most beliefs are. It is the fanatics that give a bad name to any belief.
For those who have a problem with atheists being in the religious section, sorry if it bothers you so much. Most of us aren't forcing any beliefs on anyone. Speaking for myself, I am intelligent and I enjoy learning and hearing about others beliefs. Religion is a part of my culture, whether or not I believe in a higher power. I don't understand why when someone asks a question based on opinion they would even bother asking if they didn't want the opinions of people with differing beliefs. Pretty boring to hear exactly the same thing from everyone.

Well that will be a sad time indeed.

Anyway, "should be as bigoted, ignorant, and self-centered as the current majority"--no. The current majority is too far that way already. We Christians should try to convince them, even to the point of pleading, but accept it when they choose the wrong path. We should feel pity, not hatred.

Oh, and FYI the atheists have already shown itself to be there as well. They are part of the groups leading campaigns to remove religious symbols and words from war memorials(some to the point of forbidding people to leave them at the Vietnam Memorial even), religious symbols and words from city and state Easter and Christmas(Christian holidays) celebrations and displays, and in some areas to suspend a student who brings a Bible to school. They are just as hateful and spiteful as everyone else.

It is religious people that hang pictures of their religious leaders. Atheists do not worship ant scientist or others for them to hang a picture of that nature on the wall unless it is for an artistic value.

And the majority of the USA are not Christians either - so go figure out.

Thinking of problems - religion created half the problems - take it out of the equation - half the problems will be gone - now that is a good sign isn't it?

As an Atheist I would not want a picture of Darwin hanging in school. The pledge would probly be returned to its original version. I hope Our children are already thinking in school. If they are not what are they doing there?

Atheists will not be a mojority in my lifetime. Unless some god comes down and tells all the simple minded people to be Atheists. LOL

*lol* I hope not. I don't think we'll hang pictures of anyone in public schools (exept maybe the founding fathers), and we'll probably just take out the "under God" part in the Pledge (that's how it was written origionally anyway). Though a thought session might be a good idea. There should be more thinking in schools, don't you think?

Better not frame the picture of Jim Darwin. Before he died he realized he had made some serious mistakes on evolution, and in the process became a Christian. One day you will stand in judgement (whether you like it or not) and I sincerely hope you are ready with good answers. Having read this you will not be able to use the excuse, "Sorry God... I didn't know".

Good luck.

If the day ever comes when atheists are in the majority, I'm sure we'll find out just how bigoted, ignorant, and self-centered they can be.

Frankly, the idea of a completely atheist government scares me blue.

It could happen, I suppose. I just think the entire population should be represented and respected. From the Atheists to the Wiccan's. If you're going to have one religion supported, then ALL religions get the same support. It's an all-or-nothing proposition, that would be most fair to all citizens of the USA.

Well, Jethro, since evolution can be taught in school and creation can't...I think you guys have the biggoted, ignorant and self-centered part down very well.

You already are as bigoted, ignorant and self-centered as the current majority so what difference does it make...

I find it curious how nonreligious Atheists keep pushing their beliefs on everyone... why are you even in the religious section??? why don't you leave us alone and stop trying to force your bigoted, prejudice and hateful beliefs on everyone???
