I would still eat them, but would drown them in alcohol to ease their pain :( Then I would bite myself as an odd form of self punishment for being so evil and inconsiderate.

You know, its amazing to me that anybody would even contemplate the moral ambiguities of pain and suffering applied to plants, when there can be no help for the survival of the species or even the person without the intake of food. What, should we find a sleeping gas for plants so that they don't weep when we eat them? I would have no more compunction against eating plants than I do any of the many types of animals that I consume, with not a shred of guilt.

As others have already replied, flora don't sense soreness. there's a technological know-how to feeling soreness, it only does not take place. flora have not got a critical aggravating equipment, that's had to sense soreness. as a manner to sense soreness, there would desire to be a strategies to sign up the it, and soreness receptors to deliver the message. The chemical are sent in the time of the spinal chord to the thalamus and then to the cerebral cortex. soreness is an evolutionary trait that facilitates something to react to soreness, subsequently fending off it and shifting away. flora are rooted into the earth, it might serve no objective for flora to sense soreness, as they can not circulate to flee. you may theorize that flora can sense soreness without CNS, yet without evidence, it is only a theory. A CNS is what facilitates the sensation of soreness. That end is sparkling by using technological know-how. absolutely everyone can create a theory, despite if it means no longer something without evidence. Multicellular animals, different than for sponges, have a critical aggravating equipment, or a creature like a jellyfish has a minimum of a loose community of nerves. Even mollusks have a feeling organ.

It wouldn't change my eating habits. I know this because animals feel pain, and I still eat them.
I am in favor of killing the animals in ways that would cause the least amount of pain.

NO. I am man, I am on the top of the food chain. All other life forms are for me to consume if not poisonous. Even other humans if it comes down to that.

they can
that was proven years ago in tests, they wired up tomatoes and cut leaves, cut off branches, pulled off tomatoes that werent ready to fall on their own, and cut into tomatoes, and they screamed at all stages. thats why tree huggers hug trees, to make them feel a little less alone in this universe.
