French would probably more accessible to an English speaker, while German is a bit more difficult.
French has the advantage of being among the Romance Languages. Having learned one, the others, such as Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, would be more easily mastered.
German has a rich history of philosophical and theological writings, as well as beautiful poetry, such as that of Schiller.
It's a difficult choice. Why not learn both?

Having studied all 4 at various levels, I'd say that German is the toughest. The spoken German is rather convenient for an English speaker to gain knowledge of. Spanish and French are linguistically dependent the identical method. Latin is the groundwork of each Spanish and French, and Latin is an excessively pleasant language, although the sentence constitution is bizarre, and so they need to have a gender attached to each and every unmarried factor. German, nonetheless, is likely one of the grammatically such a lot complicated languages in the market. They even conjugate their articles. These men and women are whacked out (no offense to them).

it depends why and how you wanna learn and from where you are. If your native language is a latin one then french would be easier on you. If not then german. To me as a native from a latin country french is pice of cake and german is hell. But you could try to learn them both:P

Mmm, maybe German. However, think about which one there is a higher chance you may need in the future.
