I've certainly not heard of the identify earlier than. I'm English, and I've visible all varieties of names in my genealogical study. Why do you suppose it would be Irish or Scottish? To me, it appears like a Germanic identify with that -er suffix. So might be Dutch or German?

My first guess would be Persian. A lot of names end in "i" just as many Armenian names end in "ian".
