Those are the desperate ones who believe they are following the Quran, but all they've done is misinterpret and convince themselves they are soldiers for Allah - kind of like Bush saying that God is on his side when America goes in to a country that had nothing to do with 911 and kills civilian men, women and children and calls it "collateral damage."
Christians can be JUST as wrong as Muslims. Look at the history of Christians and their "holy wars." How many native Americans died in this country, killed by so-called "God-fearing" people. Religion has been used by both Christians and Muslims to justify hate and violence.

Muslim that follow the Quran teaching does not dispose off the innocents mindlessly. It's the one who went astray does the killing.
Murdering a fellow human is forbidden in Islam, and even in war, Muslim are not allowed to kill children, women, old people and those who wish for peace.
Generalizing all the practitioner does not make sense, since Muslims are individual human too. And so exist those who went astray from the teaching of Quran.
Just my 2cent.

No. Because it is not part of their religion. THey can make all the noise in the world as to how they beleive in Jesus as their prophet also but if you read the history of islam carefully, the prophet did not allow any of this. He said he was the only one to be believed.
So the muslims use the killing process for anything and everything they want. Dont believe muslims when they say they believe in the Bible and Jesus.

Yes, the majority of Muslims stick to the teachings of Islam, but there is a minority which has gone astray killing the innocents.
The verses quoted by whynotaskdon is from Surat Al-Anfal.
this sura is entirely about the situation of muslims in a war, it teaches the Muslims the precaution and steps to be taken during a war. This is not a order for Muslims to kill the unbelievers. See the following verses from same Quran
:
"Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord
with wisdom and beautiful preaching;
and argue with them in ways that are
best and most gracious." [Al-Qur’an 16:125]
"And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)." 29:46
“Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.2:256
"They impress on thee as a favour that they have embraced Islam. Say, "Count not your Islam as a favour upon me: Nay, Allah has conferred a favour upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if ye be true and sincere. 49:17

If you seriously take a look at history, you will notice that from time to time all groups of beliefs have their opinions expressed...So at this present time, it's obviously the Muslims turn.

I think the Q'ouran says something like that...."Do harm to no living thing."
But it also says, "Strike down the non-believer". Meaning anyone who isn't Muslim.

The Quarán, Surat Al-Anfal 8:12.
008.012
YUSUFALI: Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them."
PICKTHAL: When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger.
SHAKIR: When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.

You can kill for the cause of Islam/Allah. They think they get rewards for that. They believe their spiritual leaders over their own conscience.
