I started going at the end of my freshman year. When I went, there were only 2 more meetings after that, so I went to the last two. Then I also went my whole sophomore year. I really loved it so much. It was my escape from all the mean kids at school and people were more accepting. The last few meetings before the 2005-2006 youth group year weren't the best. My boyfriend broke up with me there. He said we'd remain friends, but he avoided me at the last few. We haven't spoken since mid March when it happened. That was the only time we'd see eachother. We never went anywhere else on dates. I hung out with a group of people he knew, and now that we broke up, they only talk to him. I felt so lonely after the break up. Other than those people, I don't really know anyone else personally. I would go with another friend, but sometimes we have to do group activities there and he and I might have to be partners and I'm afraid he will be a jerk towards me. Should I go when it starts in September?

Go to the Youth Group Leader and talk to them about your situation. Chances are good that they will give you some real feeedback other than "you just need to come to group", and they would be sensitive to the whole "partners" issue too.

It would still be your decision whether or not to go back, of course, but somebody needs to know this is how you feel, if for nothing else to tell the youth group they aren't being very Christ-like if you are feeling shunned by them.

Just act like everything's okay and you're doing well. If you just go about your life as normal and be friendly then you can know you can move on. If he's being a jerk that's his problem not yours.
