I was really excited at the news about a "Witch School" opening up. It would be similar to the Christian private schools, but with the spiritual emphasis on Paganism and the Old Religion, not Christianity. I know it was shot down by the local Christian populace, but I have heard that it may in fact be a reality soon?
Has any of my Pagan brothers and sisters heard about this and what have your heard or read?

UM, I asked this of my Pagan brothers and sisters, something I don't think a Christian would call a Pagan.
(No, I'm not Christian)

Are you talking about a school for children? I think that would be wonderful, but it would truly depend on who is running it. There are many famous Pagans out there who I wouldn't want teaching my kids. As an alternative to this, there are many Pagan homeschooling groups. I would love to start something like this in my area. If I win the lottery, right?
There are a few operating seminaries out there for those who would like to become priestesses. I wish I lived near one.
And then there is witchschool.com. Its online instruction in Correllian Wicca. I think their lessons are great, but you could learn all of that from the 'net. I prefer teaching in person or even via IM, or a format that makes it easy to ask questions and get them answered.

Witch School has been online for some time and they bought property in Illinois, I think. It's cool. I don't think it's a school for kids though, I think it's strictly adult ed and strictly for learning about Wicca and Witchcraft. It is a Wiccan School specifically, so I haven't paid it much attention as Wicca isn't of interest to me in the least. I take classes at Cherry Hill Seminary. For kids there's also the Grey Academy, but that's online too and strictly magick. I can't wait until there's an all-path Pagan private school to send kids too. That'll be awesome. By the time it happens it'll be my grandkids though. I'd put my money on that project! If I win the lottery, that's one thing that will happen in my area for sure. But it won't be a little Harry Potter magick school. It would be a hardcore education. All the stuff kids should be learning in school, (I work at a University, I rant about this all the time!) plus a little magic on the side.

The only "Witch School" I know of is an online venture based in the Midwest. It's okay, but all you need to do to pass each "test" is to open the study guide in a separate web window. Check it out:
http://www.witchschool.com/
At the very least, it provides a solid, historical background for those driven by a pre-christian spiritual sensibility. It's leaders are also pragmatic; side-stepping the crush of teenage "magick" wannabes.
If you're serious about paganism, it's a decent enough place to start. If you want to cast "spells" and turn your Ex boyfriend into a dust mite, I suggest you grow up.

No I haven't heard anything about it. I honestly don't see such a thing though. The world is still blinded to what we really do. Also I wouldn't really like such a thing. Why should we exclude others from learning because of religion. Also if it is private schooling then it will cost. Why pay for something instead of share and teach something that the goddess gives for free. It is just a form of reverse segragation. The only way we pagans will be accepted fully into the community is if we integrate ourselves and not exclude ourselves.

There are at lase two good ones right now. One in Wisconsin run by selna fox and one in the caralionas(i believe) run by the farries(not sure about the spelling and would take to long to find the book with the spelling of their names.). depending on the type of system you want to join use your search bar to locate any i your area. mine is Cetic and there are hundres of the both pagan and pagan/christian unforunatly they are much to far away for me to attend.
Since the supreme court made the desion that Witchcraft was a valid religion. there have been rumors of such a scholcoming into bening.
most groups still prefere to limit the number of trainies in their coven.

I've heard.
I've read.
I've joined for free.
I can't wait for it to open. They are going to be opening it, they just need some more funding for the bricks and stuff. I got a newsletter from them requesting me to send $2 to help them build the place.
Unfortunately, no tengo dinero, that idea went flying out the window.
It'll be great. One step at a time. Soon, there'll be a whole load of 'em.
Yay.

I've not heard of it, but then I'm not a pagan really.
I just happen to be agnostic with a very pagan-friendly personal philosophy ;)

Sorry, when something says ".........only!" I have to click it. Thats good to hear! But it's gonna get alot of criticism from the Christians, It's kinda gonna be like when they first allowed blacks into schools. Best of luck to the Witch Schools.

I haven't heard about it, but it sounds awesome!!! Wow, I wish they had some of those schools around when I was still in high school (ok, so it has only been 5 years, but hey.....). That would be great if they came to be, doubtful, but still. You never know.

Sorry, not a Pagan, but don't get mad, please? :)
I haven't heard of it. Not too surprising to me, but I wonder how big it would be. Over time I guess if people really find it a good choice.
