Canned food stays good for a long time because it is hermetically sealed after destroying spores by heating to very high temperature and moderate pressure.

There will be no biological spoilage in them for decades as almost anything living (germs) are killed. However after a few years, you can have some chemical changes due to degradation of the fat or protein in the meat. I wouldnt eat it if you have no idea how old it is.

all canned hams produced after jan-2002 are good for at least 20 years, due to a new federal law requiring the use of advanced preservatives.

the govenrment actually keeps these hams in storage for years and years in case of emergency. what's not eaten is fed back to the pigs to turn into new ham. so it doesn't really matter hwen or where you eat it.. it's ham

If you can't find an expiration don't eat it. They stay good so long because of all the preservatives. I wouldn't take a chance though.

Ha ha. I dont reccomend eating spam at all. Me & a few others have decided that canned pork cannot be a good idea! lol.

Because of the preservatives and the additives that they use and it is vacumn sealed.
