I've lived in both, and I would say it depends on who you really are. Both are addictive, and you'll never want to leave again. But here are the fine differences: Underneath it all, London is gentle and kind; New York does not have that. On the other hand, New York is a bit safer than London, I hear (never had any trouble in either one though). Personally, I would choose London, because you can travel to all the surrounding European nations for peanuts, and within minutes. It's 40 minutes to Amsterdam, and may cost only 5 dollars; where in New York do you get that? Also, you'll find that the British are a lot less abrasive to live with than the New Yorkers in the long run (sorry if I'm insulting any New Yorkers - you wouldn't understand, I'm afraid, but it's something to do with the way you interact). Good luck!

I live in NY and frequent NYC a lot. I've been to London and have found it similar to NYC in a lot of ways although there are many differences. If I had the choice I would say London. It's more historic and much cleaner.

like a number of cities, they each and each have their execs and cons. Sydney actually wins on climate. residing standards in Sydney are in all probability in many cases greater than London- greater advantageous wages, residing situations, etc. this is totally costly however, greater so than London (which already has a repuation for being costly). And my puppy peeve- public transport in Sydney is a humorous tale.

I would choose London and UK, because they "belong" to Europe. I don't dislike America, but I just prefer Europe.
