In the process of planning right now..... argggh! We both at the moment are broke, and in the middle of a minor legal issue. This is my FIRST wedding and his THIRD. So what I want, he doesn't. He doesn't want the wedding shower, the engagement party, the rehearsal dinner, and outdoor ceremony, the engagement photos, a grooms cake etc. He just wants ceremony, party, honeymoon. He doesn't seem to care about the "details" that makes a wedding a "wedding" We haven't even set a date yet, and I am almost in tears because it seems like I am going to have to sacrifice everything!!! And on top of that, I have always wanted my sis to be my maid of honor, she said yes...... BUT she is financially incapable of doing anything. She hasn't had a job in nearly 3 years.... soooo she cant buy her dress, shoes, throw the bachelorette party etc. A voice in my head keeps screaming ELOPE ELOPE ELOPE!!!

I have close to a year and half to get some planning going.

At first we were going to have a wedding at the beach and all but now we realizing how difficult beach weddings can be. Permits, to locations, to renting, to not wanting their options they give and argh,.

Then some members of my family is being ***'s so, decided that I will just cut them out. Which only leaves like 5 people on my side who will attend. 10 total at least with non-family.

My fiance's side will but they will gripe about cost and where to stay and stuff. so, as much as we want them their. We realize this is our day and family or not won't get in the way.

However, very depressing cuz we won't get what we want in the end.

No brides maids.
Barley will attend.
Reception won't be traditional or anything like that. Mostly a "get together" more than setting up tables to eat, dances, and stuff like that.
Doing finger foods than real dinner.

but with love and wanting this after so many years, it will be alright.

The worst thing for me was 4am the day of my wedding...I dropped the video camera on my right foot and broke it, my foot that is, saved the camera. I did all the planning so no real horror stories with the planning part.

I had to change the entire plan because my Mother in Law to be did not approve, objected strenuously and exercised shame and blame tactics, manipulating through emotional black mail. what should have been a joyful and memorable day was pathetic and so very disappointing that to this day the thought of it creates a pain in the pit of my stomach. Unfortunately, when you are young and want to be accepted and try to please every one you don't always have good boundaries or know how to reinforce them. If it were to happen today I would gently but firmly tell my Mother in Law to be that as it is our wedding day, we are looking forward to celebrating it in our own special way and if she chooses not to attend, we will understand.

The night before our wedding I called the band to confirm everything and they told me they had broken up.

I had booked everything months in advance but never followed things up until the last minute.

Thankfully I managed to get some musicians together at the last moment.

My friends sister does cookie wedding favors. So her sister need someone to watch her dog for four day so i did that for her with the understanding that she would do my favors. Then her sister needed someone to babysit for the weekend so I did that for her. All of this with the understanding that I would be getting my favors practically for free. Well one week before my wedding her sister decided to tell me that she is already booked up that day. I was so pissed off so my mom and i had to find money fast and stay up until 3am in the morning making our little gifts. It was rediculous, also that lady never payed me for all that work i did for her. Talk about a B****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHe said she was not going to pay me because I had a bad attitude, who wouldn't be pissed off at her?

A hurricane. Hurricane Jeanne to be exact. September 25, 2004, she decides to roll through South Florida. But it was not that bad, we did not change the date. Our family and friends came anyway, two people out of 70 didn't show, so we knew we were loved and supported.

My husband told everyone that no woman, especially one named Jeanne, would keep him from marrying me.

:D

We actually went through with it!

I should have known our marriage was doomed when it came time for me to say, "I do", I asked, "What was the question?" Needless to say, our divorce was finalized two years later.
