America.
After world war II, Japan agreed to not have a standing army. They essentially have a limited 'peacekeeping force.' No army.

Okay I get what Pandora person is trying to say, but dude, Japan and America arent allies. Since WWII we've had control over their military and government decisions...they are non military now because we took control and say they cant have an army. Although, Japan threw us through a loophole, and have an army, but its more civilian. So, the thought of a war between the two of us isnt logical.

America, by far. Japan doesn't have nukes, first of all.
Second of all Japan is still under tight wraps from WWII.
Japan's army is largely America-funded. If Japan hadn't entered WWII or attacked anyone... it would be entirely different. Japanese, like Germans, for the longest time were largely militaristic.

Japan's main export goods are cars, electronic devices and computers. Most important single trade partner is the USA which imports more than one quarter of all Japanese exports. Japan has a large surplus in its export/import balance. The most important import goods are raw materials such as oil, foodstuffs, and wood. Major suppliers are the USA... It would be a huge impact on our, not to mention the worlds, economy. War would be stupid. Just plain Stupid.

Well that question was answered in 1945, but if your talking about today..The U.S.....Again. But you also have to figure that Japan really doesn't have an army to speak of. And what army they do have is more for homeland security, alot like our National Guard.
