Most religious people enjoy reading and have to do a lot of reading both religious and secular. I would go to a Christian Bookstore, if there is one in your area, or a large bookstore with a religious section and purchase her an interesting book. If the book is not that expensive, and you can afford to do so, you could also get her a gift card to the same store, and she will be able to use it toward another purchase. If you cannot afford to do this, you have been to her house; and must know a bit about the types of things that she likes; candles, a pretty picture frame, if she serves coffee or tea and snacks at the Bible studies, you can pick up some coffee or some fancy tea bags. You can even find some of these types of items in the Dollar stores if you are on a tighter budget, pick up a cute basket to put the items in get her a nice card telling her what a difference she has made in your life and your all set to go! God bless you for being such a thoughtful friend!

If she doesn't have her own church but is an ordained minister, I'd say get everyone who meets with her together, and go searching for at least a temporary church until the congregation can get enough money to buy land and build a real church, or lease/buy a church that is already built. I used to go to a new church with a recently ordained minister and we held services in what used to be a garage. But, they fixed it up nice. Maybe you would be able to pull that off. Maybe not in time for her birthday, but it would be a great start!!
If she really is the teacher you say she is, then I'm sure God will provide what you need if you ask him.

I forget what they're called, but there are these little cross trinkets that have a tiny hole in the middle of the cross and if you look inside there's a tiny magnified inscription of the lord's prayer. The cross, or at least the one I had, was about 2 inches high, and the hole is covered by a magnifying-type lens so you can see the prayer large enough to read it. I know there's a name for those things, maybe one of the later Christian responders can help you out with it...

Give her a gift card to a store where she shops. Since she has her bible studies at her home, she could probably use things to refill her pantry.

If you want to get her something great, then make sure it is a gift that comes from your heart. Sometimes the smallest gift can be the greatest treasure.

well, since she has a lot of people at her house, get her something for her house! a table runner, a fancy dish, statue, desk lamp something to hang on the wall, something like that. it dones't have to be anything "religious" like a cross or anything. just something nice to compliment her home.

What about a sun catcher for her window? I have one which is scripture related. It's always nice and memorable.
