Used to use huggies, and Kirkland with my first, but my second I could only use luvs because he would get these nasty boils about the size of silver dollar and hard as a rock. We switched to Luvs and everything stopped. This is probably just a reaction my younger son had, and not a major issue with the above brands. So just figure out what works best for you.

When my kids were babies it was cloth all the way. No extra trash in the landfill and no unknown chemicals and such against their skin.
Disposables are very uncomfortable to a person, they are hot and sticky even when dry plus they keep air from getting to the skin which helps prevent diaper rashes. To top it off, they are cheaper overall than disposables.
Now that I am much older, I am partially incontinent and have proven all this to myself. The only time I will wear a disposable is on a trip or somewhere I know I won't be able to change a cloth diaper. The rest of the time it is cloth, cloth, cloth.
I wish every parent would be made to wear a disposable diaper for a week before they make the decision as to what to put their baby in. I think after that, the choice would be obvious.
Good luck.

I think Huggies are better, because they absorb very well and my son has never had a rash or anything using Huggies. But Pampers are real good too. Pampers has a "Earn Points" thing going, and every package of diapers or wipes you buy, inside is a 15 digit code that u enter online to earn points. Then u can turn ur points in for merchindise.

We like the Pampers diapers because I found that they don't leak. The Huggies never seemed to stay fastened when we used them. We're also finding that Kirkland brand from Costco work fine.

I get the Kirkland brand at Costco. They are just as good as Huggies. They are usually about the same price as the Huggies, but you get more diapers with the Costco ones

For a newborn, WalMart's white cloud work as well as any other, and are a lot cheaper. When they are cruising around, I vote for Costco's (Kirkland) brand. The others are good, but more costly. I HATED Luvs. They have sticky tabs (rather than just the velcro) and can stick to baby's skin.

We only use Pampers. (when my son was first born we used Swaddlers, then BabyDry, & now Cruisers.) They're the ONLY brand that he does not break out in a rash with...With Huggies, Luvs, & Wal-Mart brand, he broke out in rashes in different spots (around the thighs, butt, or top where they velcro). We tried another brand, I can't remember what they were called...Anyway he peed once & it leaked right through them in the front. They were the worst LOL

I have mostley used Huggies for my girls, I think they are pretty absorbent. I have tried nearly every brand (in Australia) at one time or another mostley for price, if there on special. Some times even the really cheap ones are good. They need to have soft covers and grip tabs.
