Personally, proof is all around me that America wants nothing to do with God or it supposed relgions as we like to break the 10 Comandmens all the time, theirs no such thing as trying to stay celenbent until marriage, we don't even bother trying to teach Creationalism in schools and the fact that Athism is trying to remove things that we considered tradtion, such as one nation under God, are we headed to pointed that God will be non-existant in America.

Since America can't have a offical relgion, let's say unoffical relgion or relgion most followed.

To have our religion officially as athiesm, we'd have to do one of two things:
1.) Uniformly make sure Athiesm isn't a religion (which in a lot of respects it is)
or
2.) Repeal the first ammendment.

Anyway, one flaw of logic you've made in your statement is that you've confused America as a single entity, rather than a cluster of people. America is very polarized on the religion issue. It is officially not supposed to impose religion one way or the other, but both sides are constantly pushing because they each want their way.

Moreover, part of the Soviet Union's communism was about how they were officially athiests, because having a faith in some religion was an opposition to the government, so we wouldn't be the first anyway. Maybe the first non-communist or something...

Edit: To ... whoever it was... that said the states can't make their own religion, that's wrong: the US Constitution restricts not only the national law, but also the law of the states. The 10th ammendment says that if the constitution doesn't prohibit it, it's generally up to the states to decide, but that doesn't allow the states to oppose the US constitution. "Congress" includes the congresses of the individual states as far as the constitution is concerned.

First of all, America will never be the 1st country with atheism as an official religion, because America will never have an official religion. Don't you remember why we left England in the first place, its sort of against the constitution. And how can you say America isn't concerned with christianity. It dominates the political world. You can't have a battle without support on both sides, which means, there are many christians that follow their believes.
As for creationism in schools, you're right, we don't teach it in our schools, but we're not teaching evolution anymore either. It has been disproven, by secular scientists and is now openly discredited by the scientific community. Schools are now turning to the fact of intelligent design. Which entails that mankind was created by an intelligent being. And since I'm pretty sure aliens didn't zap me into existence, I'm pretty sure that means God.
As for "one nation under God", the motion to take it out of the pledge was vehemently rejected by all parties in an amazing display of patriotism, it was merely a story blown WAY out of proportion by the media.
As long as i breathe, God will be present in America.

I hope not!!!!! I am sure that a lot of people do hope so. When we remove God from our country, we remove His protection. Even if you don't believe it, it is there. As far as breaking the 10 commandments, we are all human. Humans sin that is why God sent a way that we could be forgiven of our sin. Yes, you can abstain from sex until married, it comes down to your own will, not breaking the 10 commandments (and other commands that Jesus taught) comes down to your own will!!! Traditions are different, we had a tradition in America to own slaves, but we don't now. I will say that things have gotten worse since they removed prayer from schools. You can argue, but look at the statistics. You have to choose for yourself what you will do. You can't MAKE anyone else believe what you do. Live as an example to what you believe and don't sway from that. People will want to be you, because you are a strong person rooted in your morals and beliefs. You can change the world that way, start from your corner and work your way out.

Actually, the communist countries didn't officially believe in God.
They were considered Athiest and are one of the reasons that
we have a pledge of allegiance that refers to God - to distinguish
ourselves from the "God hate'n commies".

I think you also don't undertstand the difference between
forcing everybody to be athesists and NOT forcing people to be of a
particular religion.

The idea here is simple: As a tax payer, I don't want to pay for somebody
to advocate some religion that isn't mine. The quaran is not part of the
Christian faith. Would you like to pay for someone to advocate the quaran?
Well, the 10 commandments isn't part of the Muslim faith, yet many people
think we should be teaching that in our publically paid for school systems.

You don't want to this country to not be atheist - you want it to be Christian.
In fact, I'll dare say that you don't want it to be certain types of Christianity
(such as Mormonism, etc.)

In truth, I have never heard anyone BUT Christians refer to the term
"Creationism" - although certainly other religions have the concept.

So - we will never have an official religion of atheism and there have
already been countries that actually did have it as an official religion
(Soviet Union).

I am by no means an atheist, but it seems that you need to spend a little more time in school.

You see, "relgions" is not a word nor is "Commandmens." You used "theirs," when grammatically speaking, the correct form should be "there's" or "their is." "Celenbent" seems to be another invention of yours, as is "Creationalism." The words to which I believe you are referring are "celibate" and "Creationism." (Just plain, old "Creation" would suffice as well). Again "Athism" and "tradtion" are not words, and I'm also certain that "non-existant" should be spelled "non-existent."

Next time you want to spark an intelligent debate, say something intelligent.

I don't think America will ever have a "Official Religion" As it is now, it's true that there are so many people that don't follow any religious law. Most people have sex before they are married, lie, steal, and swear. The American way is to have a choice to be religious or not. While there are many people that choose not to believe, there are many that still do. Even if Creationism isn't taught in schools it will surly be taught at home. Just as it has been for hundreds of years.

It's in the Constitution - America is supposed to support religious freedom, if that means atheists we've got to let them be. Religion tends to make tempers run high, that's why it's not supposed to be officially supported by government employees/programs and science is taught in schools instead of religion. Creationism is technically religion, not science, counting it as such is stupid.

It will never get that bad. Evil ppl have tried for centuries to wipe out God and Jesus and the Bible, and yet it all still exists, stronger than ever, because He's real.
But considering the slippery moral slope America is on, and considering the big Newsie Events that we have seen in the past recent few years, I would say that God's Judgement has only begun to fall upon America.

If I were you, I'd be a lot more worried about what the right-wing Christian fundamentalists are trying to accomplish. Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.

Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”

They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.

Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.

All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."

Wake up. Take a stand. Do something. By allowing this insidious agenda to progress, we are sowing the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious nut-jobs are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

Atheism won't be the official religion for quite some time, since the majority of the population is Christian. Only a small minority (mostly those in power), are atheists. So I don't think we'll be an atheist country for a long time to come.
