Scars burn a lot more easily than the rest of your skin. I have this big scar on my knee from surgery like 13yrs ago. It burns and turns red EVERY summer. I do notice it to tan a little but it doesnt get any less visible. Sorry, no such luck.

I've never tried to use like fake tan stuff. It should work though. Just sunscreen your scar and after you tan blend it in with the bronzer stuff. Its worth a try.

It depends on your skin tone. I am white, and have a lot of abdominal scarring, and when I tan, they stay white, so they show up pretty well!

Generally, scarred skin doesn't tan, but with darker pigmented skin it may look redder, and kind of blend better.

For me, getting a tan makes me feel better about the way I look overall, so I don't think about the scarring as much. However, you are MORE than your scars..MUCH more...don't worry about them!

if you a girl yon put make up and somewhat block your scar but if your a guy you can do the same thing but people might realize so just put less sunscreen at your scar so the sun might burn it a little and the after some time your scar will become less visible

Actually, the more you tan, the darker the scar will become. You can use some over the counter stuff called, 'Scar Zone'.

I've heard that tanning actually makes things like scars and stretch marks more noticable. Not 100% sure though.
