If this is so when were blacks replaced by whites? and why?

yes it is- then we became extremely discriminatory.

Many blacks gained notoriety as jockeys and as trainers...of the first 28 Kentucky Derby runnings 15 had a black jockey on the winning mount.
and that time frame (check the history) slavery was outlawed...there were no slaves riding! They had talent. Why it stopped...probably like much. Racism. Moving to other sports/careers.

It is true. I believe it continued on through most of the 19th century. Not sure why it evolved to mostly non-black jockeys; but I would guess it was due to the socio-economic conditions at the time. I would guess that one sad but true reason blacks were riding in the first place is because it is cheaper to have your slave ride than have to pay somebody else.
