And why are so many suddenly turning on them, when all they want is to have peace? No more suicide bombers either.

The rapture could occur at anytime, there is no definite timetable for it. It is the next thing on the prophetic calender though. Once it occurs, it will pave the way for the Anti-Christ to take power. He will make a peace treaty with Israel and protect them for 3 1/2 years, then turn on them. He will declare himself to be God and demand worship. Near the end, Israel will be overrun and their enemies will have them by the throat, it is at this time that Christ returns as their Messiah and Savior. He will destroy their enemies and usher in the millennium kingdom. That is a thumbnail sketch.
The word "rapture" does not appear in Scripture, but it is alluded to in many places and it fits theologically. I have yet to have any Christian give me a theological reason why Christians would go through the judgments of the tribulation which are meant for an unbelieving world. And no, it did not come from the Seventh Day Adventists.

The Rapture is actually a recent invention. While there a pasage in the Bible that are used to "prove" the Rapture, the Rapture is not mentioned by name. You can use the Bible to prove whatever you want. Even the Devil used scripture to back up his claims.

Indeed, the world turned against Israel 2000 years ago and we are still all here. Many have been convinced they are at the end times every century ever since. Armageddon seems like a terrible, even unnecessary end to this world, though it seems like so many are working very hard to ensure it happens.

In modern times, Israel has been under attack since its inception. Maybe this time it will escalate, maybe it won't. Are you old enough to remember how the Russians were supposed to end the world in a nuclear war. Luckily, no one hated the world that much. I hope it is the same way today, in spite of how hopeless it all seems.

Historically, the nations of the earth have been against the Isreali-Jews-and that has not changed. Isreal has EVERY right to defend her boarders, just as any sovereign nation has that right. The end of days will come when Isreal has peace and is lulled into complacency by the coming of the Anti-Christ to a position of power. When that dude sets himself up as god in the rebuilt temple, then the end will be here.

Why does the Bible say anything it does... sometime we really don't know... that's why it's called Faith... The prophesy states that the world will turn against Israel... that is a sign of the beginning of the end of the world as we know it...

When God has had enough of our foolishness here on EARTH he will come and take his people home. The people that have called upon him as their saviour and Lord will be rescued from this hell hole that us as humans have made it. God is perfect and its us that has screwed this world up. It is a sign of the time that he spoke about so faithful in the bible. Look at all the violence, lesbianism/gayism, sins in general and I don't know about your faith but I'm sure ready to get in heaven.

Rapture is not in the Bible. It was made up by the founder of the Seventh Day Adventists.

Briefly, the Tribulation, referred to in Jeremiah as the times of Jacobs troubles, is GOD's punishing Israel for their many sins. Its also the time that GOD has reserved to deal with Satan and usher in everlasting righteousness. So, the nations of the world will be gather in Israel in the valley of judgment (Miggidio) for the final conflict of good versus evil. If you e mail me, I will provide you with an in dept answer, more comprehensive.

My personal belief is that the rapture comes after the tribulation and armegeddon. That's why we have so many warnings on what will happen. The Bible was written as instructions for believers, not to scare non believers.

Cause that way, they can always say it's just around the corner.
Religious hatred and intolerace will continue until all religion is gone. So to say religious fighting will fortell the apocalypse, puts the apocalypse right around the corner, FOR EVERY GENERATION.

That way they can scare you into believing what they believe, and get you to elect presidents who seek stable oil supplies with the public goal of speading peace (or brining the apocalypse).

When the apocalypse doesn't come, I suppose you'll "read" the bible again and say, "oh yeah, this wasn't the apocalpse, because (INSERT SILLY INTERPRETATION HERE)"
Then in a generation or so, the nuttos will come out of the woodwork again cliaiming this time it's for sure.

That's why I decided to do away with "Holy" scripture in all it's form and concentrate on living clean, not preaching the rapture.
