Having worked in aircraft maintenance for many years, yes we did develope a slightly off-center sense of humor about these things. Especially after you get to know the pilots. In all seriousness, though, responses such as these do not reflect the fact that maintenance techs are professionals, and take the job seriously. Peoples lives are at stake, and it's understood that safety and professionalism above all else. So just enjoy... and know that if you fly, you are taking the safest way to travel.
