Of course, I am not advocating imposing and prostelizing our religions. I am just asking about more public ritual and more public literature and information regarding the peacefulness and love of many of our Pagan religions. Another important part is the integrity which seems to be missing in many christians. Emphasizing integrity for oneself is an important ingredient for happiness which breeds peace, acceptance and cooperation among others. How do we go about this? Any good ideas?

Speaking out is not the same as fighting. Witness our world is still fighting still at war. That doesn't work. WE all need to learn to speak our truths to argue in a respectful way while we learn to love each other. It is the only way to a peaceful world

Alot of Pagans are still in the 'Broom Closet', because they don't want the crap that ignorant people dish out at them. And frankly, I don't blame them.I don't even want to get into all the ignorant things people have asked me about being Wiccan. It would be nice if we had a Pagan Awareness day, but it's wishful thinking on my part.

I think that if everyone believed in integrity, self-responsibility and the like, the world would be a better place. Truth is, I know a lot of elitist Pagans- and thats why we have Witch Wars. So even Pagans can start conflicts with one another.
As for advocating for our religion, I would hope it would open minds, hearts and eyes... but some people are so hell-bent on being closed minded, I don't think it would work for everyone.
The way I show the truth about my religion is to be the best person I can be, especially when wearing religious jewelry. When I'm in the mall with my pentacle on, my actions might reflect on the rest of the Pagan population to a person ignorant of my faith. If Im an ***, people might think that Pagans are jerks. If I'm NICE, people might think that Pagans can be awesome nice people.

I love the thought behind the question, but if we practice more public ritual, I'm afraid that people will start setting up the stakes and getting the firewood together, lol.
There is a lot of literature out there for pagans, the problem is that we are seen as evil creatures and mindless, (see koresh419's answer). People truly believe that we are the bad guys and that their mission is to convert us poor, senseless peoples (note the sarcasm).
I believe the main thing we can do is to keep setting a good example for those who are honest in their interest. Unlike a certain religion that I don't care to name right now, Pagans don't have to actively try to "convert" others, they seek us out!
Here where I live there are several covens, of which do community activities with people to educate them on our beliefs. That would be a good place to start.
Message me sometime and we can bounce ideas off each other.
Gracious and divine Goddess, give aid, guidance and strength of spirit to this fellow sister. Blessed be.

A lot of communities have a "Pagan Pride Day" where Pagans of various paths put on an event with local metaphysical shops hand such having booths and even having small public ceremonies. witchvox.com has a lot of information on what goes on in different communities.
Unfortunately our local Pagan Pride day had some Christian extremists come an make things difficult for everyone and now it is just a few local pagans invited to attend, which kind of defeats the purpose of educating the public about us and our beliefs, and of course tolerance.

Why do you want to help the world for? So the ceo of some company could make $30 million per week in peace? Let the world burn. Trust me. And anyway, public love is not love but orgy and public ritual is entertainment not respect toward no god/goddes. As for the peacefulness...it goes to hell during the rush hour traffic so unless you fix that problem first...go away with your enerving kumbala songs, all right?

I think part of the attraction to paganism is that there's no huge hierarchy or list of rules or anything. . .you just worship the almighty and that's it.
Don't get too big, look what it did to the other religions.

I think we should fight for our rights as Pagans before another witchtrial wipes us out.
First They Came for the Jews
First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

We are growing at a tremendous rate now days.
I really don't think we need to promote our beliefs. It just gives me that 'door to door' creepy feeling. I take time to talk to the kids and young adults. You know we illuminate such positive auras that people are naturally attracted to us! I really prefer to have someone ask before I open my world to them....
Blessed Be...
