I don't see anything wrong with being against the USA. I believe we have a poor foreign policy and that will bring terrorism to the USA. We are the bully of the world and I for one am against the USA. I will soon tear up my DD Form 214 in front of the Cameras for all to see. Then I will letter the ground and step on my torn worthless discharge papers. Then I will help get the troops home.

someone once said 'the most patriotic thing you can do is oppose your country's leaders when they are wrong'. no, i don't think there's anything wrong w/being against your own country if what you feel they are doing is wrong. Freedom of expression is one of our most cherished rights.

One of the USA's founding fathers stated (Paraphrased) that it was a citizens duty to rebel against his country if that country or its leaders/rulers allowed the people to become second place to the government own survival. In the USA its the People for the people and not the People for the government of the United States. To speak against a policy of the USA is guaranteed under the articles of the constitution as freedom of speech and your service to this country can be displayed any way you wish to include the destruction of your DD-214. BUT if you feel that strongly against the government or its people you might want to find another country to call home before you talk yourself into an act of, or being charge with treason. You might want to remember the terrorist came to the USA long before we of the USA went looking for them.

Turning against your own country used to be classified as being a TRAITOR. With citizens like you who needs enemies. Why not go live in China, or better yet, North Korea for a while. Then come back and share your views on the U.S. What do you really know about foreign policy or terrorism, are you an expert? If you are so against the U.S. just go somewhere else, instead of complaining about the land I love!

Having served myself I can see how one would get a bad taste in their mouth for the USA. However I must remind you that their are some good ones out there. You should have the GI Bill and could and should use it to better yourself. Being well traveled myself I wish to express to you to realize that so many Americans have been brainwashed as the USA is the right way but you and I know differently, You may turn against your countries lifestyle and still use its benefits. However if you want to be involved in the political process, learn, read, get involved, but don't "Turn" on YOUR country.

I think there's a difference between being against the government and against the country, just like there's a difference between being against the war and against the troops. Although some believe that I am unpatriotic, I do not support the government in its actions nor the war they've sent people to die in. However I do support the troops, and the people of the United States. We simply need some governmental restructuring, including a new set of leaders.

Don't listen to those ignorant "America, love it or leave it" mopes. It is not just your right to protest against the government when you think they are doing wrong, it is your duty as a good citizen to do so. These people who think that the government and it's leaders are beyond reproach are nothing more than mindless sheep. It is this type of protest that keeps our country healthy. It's their "follow the leader" thinking that allowed Hitler and the Nazi's to flourish. You have a 214, I wonder how many of the sheep can say the same.

I have a suggestion: instead of sticking around to bring the troops home, how about if you emmigrate? You seem unhappy, here; I'm sure there are many places in the world where you could feel more at home.

I. for one, would be glad to take over your parking space.

You can voice your disagreement without being too drastic. I've never heard of a country deporting their own resident to another country and knowing how the government works, if you're like this, they might just list you down as a terrorist. Take care.... Join a group that is peaceful yet voices the same arguements as you.

it depends.

it is ok if you voice out your concerns about your country's policies (external or internal) since your country's constitution provides you this right.

it is not ok for you to engage in armed conflict with your country as a citizen of that country. what can you do is to acquire citizenship from other countries so that you may fight your former country thru an existing war (you may not be held liable by your former country). or become a member of a terrotist group (which is not ok).

You ought to start loving America. How many other countries would let you broadcast stomping on discharge papers without arresting you?

yes if 1) you have tried all you can to make things better
2) you are willing to take the friction from those who don't feel the same
3)send yourself on a tour of the world looking for one that can touch us and if you find it, stay there.
