I hope you meant 300mg per day.
If you forget to take your Dilantin at a particular time, miss that dose and carry on with following doses as close as possible to what your doctor has recommended.
Another suggestion would be to take the dose when you remember, then continue every 6hrs [for example] after that..
Too much Dilantin can cause toxins to buildup in your blood but too little won't be as beneficial so
It's important to follow your doctor's advice as closely as possible.
Take care.

You were instructed to take your phenytoin (Dilantin) 100mg 3x a day for a total of 300mg/day, correct? I presume you understand WHY you're taking it. The pharmacist is right. It's important that you maintain fairly constant serum levels of the drug for maximum effectiveness and predictability. If you skip doses, or if they are too far apart, your blood levels may drop below the therapeutic range and you will have seizures. If you take doses too close together, your blood levels may go into the toxic range. It appears that you have 3 choices: Take it the right way, the wrong way or the "wronger" way.
If your health means so little to you that you can't come up with a way to remember to take such an important medication, there's nothing anyone here can do to change that. However, I strongly advise you to get on the phone on Monday and speak to your doctor about this. Tell your doctor exactly what you've said here and he/she may have some ideas as how to help you.
One other thing about Dilantin -- take very, very good care of your teeth and gums. Perform frequent oral care. One possible adverse effect of phenytoin is gingival hyperplasia, an overgrowth of gum tissue.
And yes, 100 grams or 300 grams are both lethal doses. It was obvious to me from the start that the correct dosages were in milligrams.

If you suffer from epilepsy, you will no doubt have a seizure if you don't take your medicine at the proper intervals. Why risk it? It's better to have that slight inconvenience of having to take a pill on time than to have a seizure, especially when you're out in public, or worse, while driving. Think about what could happen if you were behind the wheel and would have a seizure. You could cause a really bad accident, kill or injure yourself or others. Please take your dilantin on time. I don't know you, but I'd hate to see something like that happen to you. Taking it at six-hour intervals is easy to remember, since the day is divided into 24 hours. Six goes into 24 four times, so just remember to take it at 6 a.m, noon, 6 p.m. and midnight, or 7 and 1, 8 and 2 -- whatever is most convenient. Take care of yourself, dear. This is serious.

Dilantin is a medicine that passes through the liver, so it is possible for your body to eventually become immune to its effects. By taking it every 6 hours you keep the doses as low as possible and the amount in your system as low as possible while still reaching the desired effect. If you increase that amount, your liver will have a better shot at becoming capable of filtering it out of your system. I would do what ever I could to take it at the 6 hour intervals. Buy a travel alarm clock or a watch with an alarm in it. By the way, I believe 300 grams is a lethal dosage. The correct amount I believe is 300 milligrams.

In order to sustain steady blood levels, the drug has to be taken in certain time frames---if not blood levels fluctuate---it may be too high-(which isn't good)--or it could be to low (which means it won't work)-----It needs to be taken as written in order to work properly
