No specific IQ is going to tell you whom is best suited to lead. However, a normal IQ is about 100. Those that fall in the normal range would probably be better leaders, because they would have shared some of the same experiences as those they will be leading.

Those falling in the high range, would probably be too far removed from those with IQ's below theirs.

Those falling in the lowest ranges, would probably not meet the other leadership criterion
either.

That would depend on where you live. In some areas such as ours, it is not the IQ that counts. You could be as dumb as a doorknob. It is the political friends that you have in offices that counts and the favors that are owed. They are the ones that will make you a chief.

If you mean to be a chief of police you just need to have the right amount of experience and enough stuff to get the nod from the city council...
Above average intelligence though is usually the norm

Depends on whom you ask. The chiefs think it takes a very high one. Ask the people who work for them and they think its alot lower. Mainly you need to be a brown nosing yes man.
