Are you concerned first and far most about his 'breath?' Are the other issues under control? I would imagine if your son has epilepsy, he is probably subjected to multiple medications. If so, it is probably the medications which might be causing the bad breath. First, establish the condition of his teeth and gums. Visit a dentist for a check up and cleaning. If he is not flossing, teach him how. The dental assistant can help you with this. Second, check with your doctor to determine if the medication could be the cause of his breath. Third - what are you feeding him? Many times our breath condition can be attributed to the spices and foods we eat such as garlic, etc. I would consult his physician to make sure that whatever you do outside of his/her direction is not harmful to your son.

Drug stores such as Walgreen's and CVS have mouth cleansing sponge sticks for less than a quarter each, just dampen them, and wipe as much of the mouth as possible. It's better than a toothbrush because this won't make a big mess.
