Jesus simply ment a comforter other than himself...which of course ment The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit had been in contact with the faithful from the begining... But never entered the individual to stay. Just to do what was needed and them departed...After Jesus returned to heaven The Holy Spirit is not indwelling the Faithful as a life comforter and a source of direction and instruction... The Holy Spirit stays with The faithful for their remaining time in mortal flesh...When we, The faithful go to Heaven we will be in the presene of God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit... The One True God.

Isn't Jesus a comforter, Jesus had to leave because Jesus couldn't be with everyone in the world at the same time because He was in a human body. but with the Holy Spirit everyone can communicate with GOd at the same time, THerefore Jesus said I will pray to the Father for another comforter. When someone asks Jesus into their heart there is a comforting feeling. and when the Holy Spirit comes comfort comes also. You are taking it out of context

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another (állos) Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
állos - Another, numerically but of the same kind.
In contrast to héteros (G2087), another qualitatively, other, different one.
This is one of the verses that when correctly understood shows that the Holy Spirit is the third member of the godhead.

be conscious he did not say..."and that i will wish the daddy, and he shall grant you with a pacesetter who will first kill you a number of then you convert. he will then write a set of letters and they're going to be considered holier than even the words I instruct. all and numerous will obey him. trust his written words even if the Comforter tells you in a special way" human beings forget that Jesus gave us the present of Spirit. From then on, his Spirit ought to discover position in the middle of basic human beings, fairly than merely divine beings. Jesus develop right into a comforter, as fortold in scripture. in reality he develop into said as The Comforter. The Holy Spirit ought to be yet another Comforter who ought to abide perpetually because Jesus develop into extremely restricted on the time such as his flesh and the mortality situation it delivers.

No, I believe personally the Comforter is the next progressive revelation of God which is the Baha'i Faith, which is the solution to all of our present day problems. The religions are like schools, each are progressive, and when one is no longer applicable to its time period the religion becomes the object of corruption which is when a new manifestation comes to reveal the next Revelation. All the religions have gone from 1 to the present which is 9, we believe Baha'u'llah and the Baha'i Faith is the current manefestation and Faith of the present day applicable to the social laws of this period in history. The principals of the faith include the agreement of science and religion, the equality of sexes, elimination of all prejuduce, the independant investigation of truth and so on...http://www.bahai.com/Bahaullah/principles.htm

Comforters and quilts are popular in the Middle East, as it cools down rapidly at night.
In the winter, if it's really chilly, you may need another comforter.
