Mine hurt for the first month pretty solid, my teeth were so tender feeling. Then it gets better , when they tighten them they will be tender again for awhile. But dont worry, you will get used to them, and they wont bother you much at all. Make sure you use wax if you get a sore on your cheek.

If u take hot shower, u can do so immediately. So far as eating is concerned, if u feel very hungry after workout, wait till the pang subsides. Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

All I can tell you, it gets better with time.

I had my braces on for about 18 months. When they wre first put on and tightened, I had problems eating solid foods for about 2 or 3 days.

For the next 3 months, each time they were tightened again, they would hurt for about 3 days.

After about month 4 or 5, they hurt until you go to bed. After abot month 12, they hardly hurt at all when tightened.

Best of luck to you!

They will hurt anywhere usually from 2 or 3 days till a week or so after being put on. Mine stopped hurting on the 5th day. It depends on the person though.

Should stop somewhere within 24-48 hours. Advil can help to reveal the pain, just never take advil on an empty stomach.

It will last a few days and will be sensitive every time you get them tightened. Just plan on eating soup and soft foods for now. It will get better in a few days.
