I am not one to judge anyone but like a person a couple replies up said" you have a computer and internet access" If you can afford internet, you can afford to pay for groceries. However,If you are in dire need of assistance to feed your family, go to your local social services office( assistance office) to apply. Each state does vary on how much you have to make a month in order to apply..For instance: I live in Pennsylvania, You can not make more than 960 a month for a family of 2.(look on pa's website)

Go to your local Health and Human services dept. fill out an app wait around for an interview. Make sure you bring all paper work with you like licenses, birth certificates, SS cards, light and phone bill, car reg and any proof of income. and if you have any court info that is helpful to like restraining orders and proof of custody for any children and all there id's as well. And you could walk out the same day with it. Be there right when they open (but then again that's NH)

You need to call your local family and children services and make an appointment. If they have a waiting list and want you to fill paperwork out before hand....Take the paperwork back asap...even before your appt. I'm not sure about in Tennessee, but in Georgia they will give you benefits from the day your paperwork is turned in not just from the day of your appointment. Example..... You turn your paper work in on July 15th but your appointment isn't until August 1st if you are eligible you will receive benefits for July and August, but If you just take your paperwork to your appt. on August 1st you will only receive benefits for August.
Hope it helps.

To apply for food stamps, you need to contact your local social services (or Health and Human services) office for an application.

This site give you more info. It lists the info you will need and also shows income limits. You can also find the closest office to apply at.

Contact your social services department. They'll need proof of income and names and socials of those living in your house. Not sure what else but they'll tell you what to bring when you call for an appointment.

Good luck!
