I'm not Catholic, I am in fact Protestant, but I CAN answer some of your questions as they aren't purely Catholic ones. My info. comes from years of study and contemplation, and research.
1. What I've observed is that Catholics believe that this goes against the go forth and be fruitful part in the bible, but of course I can't be certain on that.
2. No, Jesus's body has not been found. However, some beleive that his shroud HAS been found and that it bears an impression of Jesus's face, this however cannot be proven.
3. Catholicism came to be after Peter brought the gospel and spread the church into Italy. The Catholic Church is first called The Roman Catholic Church. Christianity was legalized in the Roman Empire in the fourth century by Constantine, so this is the early days of the Catholic Church, again I'm not catholic, therefore not an expert on THIS, but I do know those things to be fact. The bible is the name used by Jews and Christians for their differing and overlapping canons(original story) of sacred texts. Protestants, Catholics, and Jews all have different bibles that are all generally based on the same things. The Old Testemant is the Hebrew books. These are the stories and prophecies before Christ. The New Testement is a collection of accounts of Jesus's life and the book of Revelation or "the Revelation of Jesus Christ ... unto his servant John." The other books were written by the apostles of Christ and those who knew him in life and wrote of his teachings.
4. Some people believe, as I'm sure you've heard of from The Da Vinci Code, that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and that she had a daughter...Sarah I believe, but I'm not sure of the daughter's name, it's been a while since I read the book, BUT the main christian churches of the world do not believe that he had children because there is no evidence of this in the bible. Others argue that the bible has been tampered with and that certain gospels and sentences that speak of Jesus's child and wife were ommited, but the general concensus and all of the evidence points to the fact that he had no children.
5. Yes, Mary, mother of Jesus, had other children with her husband Joseph. The most significant of these was the apostle James. It does not say that Mary REMAINED a virgin, for she was to be married and this wasn't required of her. The bible only states that Mary was a virgin before and up to the birth of Jesus so that her body would be holy enough to bear the son of God. Joseph was forbidden to touch her sexually until Jesus was born, therefore solidifying the fact that Mary was a virgin and that Jesus was the son of God and not a man. She however did not remain a virgin afterwards. She had, I believe 7 other children, or 7 sons other than Jesus and some daughters, but I didn't look it up just now, that is from memory, but she did in fact have James the half-brother of Jesus.
Although some churches do believe that she remained a virgin, but this is not what I and most protestants believe.

I am an agnostic -- but was raised Catholic.
-why are catholics against condoms/ birth control?
Their belief follows from the philosophy of St Thomas Aquinas -- a 13th century religious scholar and philosopher. Aquinas believed that the purpose of semen was to create human life. Therefore, masturbation, fellatio, sodomy or intercourse where the semen is blocked are all considered sinful.
In the late 1960s, Pope Paul VI wrote an Encyclical called Humanae Vitae where he declared that birth control was wrong.
-has jesus' body been found?
Nope. Catholics believe that Jesus ascended into the heavens.
- how did catholisim come to be?
Jesus is the founder of Catholicism. He created a new Church -- and appointed St Peter as the head of the new Church -- saying that "upon this rock, I shall build my Church" (Peter means rock)
- who wrote the bible?
Lots of people. Look at Wikipedia to see more. Most of the books of the New Testament tell you the author. For example, St Paul wrote a number of the books. St John wrote one of the Gospels and Revelations. St Peter wrote one book.
In the 2nd Century, St Irenaeus gathered together the books that many considered to be the holy scriptures. He declared that certain books (like Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) were the inspired word of God. He declared that other books were not.
In the third century, the Pope convened a Council in Rome where they set the books of the Bible. It included all of the books that Irenaeus chose -- plus a few others. The Catholic Bible has remained unchanged since then.
In the 15th Century, Martin Luther decided that some of the books did not belong. He threw them out. Most Protestants use his version of the Bible -- which is missing several books.
Shortly after that, the Pope convened a new council at Trent -- where the Catholic Church confirmed that the books of the Bible remained unchanged from the Council of Rome.
-did jesus have children?
Catholics believe that he did not.
-did mary have any other children, if so who, where they significant, and how would she have remained a virgin?
This is an interesting point of difference between Catholics and Protestants. The King James Version (KJV) has some interesting translations. There is a section where Jesus refers to his Brothers -- but the original Greek word means "close relatives" not "brothers." Protestants who have never studied the original (most of them) accept the English word and assume that Jesus had brothers. Catholics do not -- and believe that these men were the cousins of Jesus.
Elsewhere, the KJV mentions that Mary had no sexual relations with Joseph until Jesus was born. Again -- there is a translation problem. The English makes it sound like they had sex after Jesus was born. The original Greek has no such connotations -- only saying that they had no relations before his birth -- but not implying anything about after his birth.
The Bible does not explicitely say that Mary remained a Virgin -- but Catholics believe this because itis implied in the Bible. At one point, Mary talks about being worried that she is to marry Joseph -- because she made a vow to God to remain a virgin. Catholics believe that the mother of Jesus would not break such a vow -- so she had to remain a virgin. This passage is included in the books that Martin Luther threw out -- so Protestants do not come to the same conclusion.
As you can see -- several people here make the mistake of using the Protestant Bible to answer a question about Catholicism.

Here is my understanding from the research I have done...
-why are catholics against condoms/ birth control? Catholics believe the use of Birth Control is an interference of God's will. It also is seen as a form of selfishness in sex. That when one uses a condom or takes the pill they are not giving the whole of themselves to thier spouse. Also many form of birth control cause early abortions. Catholics believe that from the moment a sperm unites with the egg there is human life, so if birth control allows conception to occur but causes a miscarriage to follow, this is looked upon as a type of abortion.
-has jesus' body been found? No Jesus' body has not been found. Because Catholics (as in every Christian denomination) believe he rose three days after his death and then he acsended into heaven 40 days there after.
- how did catholisim come to be? who wrote the bible? The first record of the word Catholic, (meaning "universal") was first used in the 12 century for the then only Christian Church. The word was used for all followers of Christ. Catholics can trace thier popes back all the way to the Apostle Peter, who was told by Jesus "You are my Rock and on this Rock I will build my Church" Therefore Catholics see the day of the "tongue of fire" (or called descention of the Holy Spirit) that is recorded in the book of ACTS, days after Jesus went into heaven, as the day the Church was started. The Bible was "completed" in the year 328 a.d.The new Testament was compilied of writings and teachings that had been passed down over the years since Jesus' life. The old testement was the same as the Jewish writings, but also included the Greek books that the Hebrews had thrown out due to their being written in Greek.
-did jesus have children? It is believed he did not marry or have children. There is absolutely no recordings of the such.
-did mary have any other children, if so who, where they significant, and how would she have remained a virgin?According to tradition she did not either. In one of the Gospels they mention Jesus' brothers and sisters but until the 15th century that was always understood to be other relatives, not siblings as the Jewish people would be very closely related to cousins and would refer to them as brothers and sisters.
Hope that helped. It's always good to ask.

1. Catholics are "against" condoms and any other form of birth control because they see it as "unnatural" and stopping life that God may be trying to form.
2. No, Jesus' body has never been found. When the women went to the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion, the body was gone.
3. Catholicism broke from Judaism. After Jesus died, Peter and Paul were sent out to preach to the people. Many different people "wrote" the Bible. The best known are the ones who wrote the books of the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
4. Jesus did not father any children.
5. Mary had no other children except for Jesus. She remained a virgin her entire life.

Catholics believe birth control is wrong because one of the main reasons God put people on the earth is to be fruitful and multiply.
If we contracept, others will not be able to receive the gift of life. This is a sin against charity.
Some birth control methods actually cause secret abortions, while failed birth control often leads to abuses like abortion.
Birth control also places unnatural physical and/or chemical barriers between the husband and wife, and it has also proven to be a health risk, especially for the wife.
Jesus was eternally reunited with his body at the resurrection, on Easter Sunday. He is presently seated, body, blood, soul and divinity, at the right hand of God the Father, in heaven. His body and blood may also be found on the altars and in the tabernacles of Catholic churches, 24/7, all around the world.
Jesus Christ instituted the Catholic church, shortly before he ascended to heaven. The official birthday of the Catholic church is Pentecost, which is 50 days after Easter.
The bible was written by various sacred writers, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, over a period of some 1500 to 1800 years. The bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God.
Jesus is betrothed to his future bride, which is the church. He never had any children. If he did, it would have nullified his redemptive work, and mankind would not have received salvation through him.
The Blessed Virgin Mary had only one child, Jesus. She remained a virgin before, during, and after the birth of Christ.
Mary was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit, who conceived Jesus in her womb. This didn't involve any type of sex act.
The "mechanism" of Jesus' birth is not precicely known, but we do know that Jesus was born in such a way, so as to leave Mary's virginity intact.
This too, was accomplished supernaturally, for reasons known only to God.
The Catholic church knows this first hand, as the original apostles and disciples, especially St. John, knew Mary and Jesus personally.
Christians of later faith traditions claim, based solely on their faulty interpretation of scripture alone, that Mary had other children. This is untrue.
The Catholic church knows these things from actual experience, from the revelation of God, through Jesus and the apostles, from scripture, and from certain other private revelations which have occurred since biblical times.

Condoms are taking away the chance of reproduction and birth control pills not only take away that but can make the uterus hostile to an embryo thereby causing miscarriage. We Catholics believe each and every Marital act must be open to the gift of life.
Catholicism was founded by Jesus on Peter the first Pope. Call it what you will but that is history.
The Bible is God’s letter to humanity collected into 66 books written by 40 divinely inspired writers. These writers come from all walks of life (i.e., kings to fishermen) and spans over a period of 1,500 years or more. These claims may seem dramatic (or unrealistic to some), but a careful and honest study of the biblical scriptures will show them to be true.
Jesus did not have any children nor did he marry.
Jesus was Mary's only child the "Brothers" spoken about were step brothers from Joseph's first marriage and male family members. The translation to english was not effortless.

- Catholics are not against all birth control, just artificial birth control.
- Jesus's Body ascended to Heaven forty days after His Resurrection. It was not left on Earth for anyone to find.
- Jesus Christ Himself founded Catholicism and appointed Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles, head of His Church. The Bible is a compilation of many works from many different authors/compilers over more than a thousand-year time span. The Catholic Church collected these works and created the Bible we have today.
- Jesus did not have children of His own.
- Mary did not have any children after Jesus. Obviously, if she did, she could not have maintained her virginity.
My advice would be to put down your copy of "The Da Vinci Code" and/or "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", and pick up a Bible and Catechism.

no. The bible says Jesus' body was taken into heaven before the discple's eyes . mark 16:19
catholocism cam to be as the result of much suffering by non-christians. The catholic church has a long and violent history, that they claim starts with Peter the disciple. God, working through man, wrote the bible.
no
yes, Jesus' boilogical brothers and sisters are mentioned a few times in the bible. Mary was only a virgin until after Jesus was born. They were not significant at all. in fact, in one verse, Jesus family comes and he seems indifferent. mark 3:31-34

1) im not sure
2) no
3)sorry not catholic, but sure peter didn't create catholism or have anything to do with it because Catholism came 100yrs after Peter. The bible is the inspired word of God:
2 Timothy 3:16 -
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
4) jesus did not have children, he was a virgin
5) mary had other children with Joseph, They were not significant but James and John and Jude was his half brothers and they are Jesus apostles. She didn't remain a virgin because she married Joseph and there had sex there Jesus half brothers and half sisters.

1Why indeed?
2.Jesus is in heaven with his Father (read John chapter 20 through acts chapter one
3.The 66 books of the Bible were written on three continents? In three languages. By about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, fishermen, priests, and a physician). Over a period of about 1500 years. On the most controversial subjects. By people who in most cases had never met. By authors whose education and background varied greatly. Yet all 66 books maintain harmony with each other…as if written by one great mind. And indeed it was.” 2 Peter 1 verse 21 “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy spirit” Catholicism came after the Bible was written.
4. Jesus never had descendants
5. Noone ever said that she remained a virgin. James was a brother of Jesus. He had brothers and sisters although the Bible doesn't mention sisters exactly see matthew chapter 12 verse47
