You might want to press ctrl + alt +esc and choose processes. Then click on CPU twice. This will show you what program uses the most of the CPU process. Normally System Idle Process should be the highest. If something else is using the CPU while you are burning, then it's no wonder the computer is freezing. Click on the image name and choose end process. Freeing up CPU process should solve the problem. The less programs that run, the less they can interfere with each other.

If that doesn't work try this. It'll almost be like booting in safe mode.

start --> run --> msconfig

under startup uncheck everything except any roxio program. Reboot and run your program. This should free up some resources. Try burning your disk.

When you are done, run msconfig and return your startup programs

brian is right. i assume you're making cd's or dvd's? xp will use most of your 512 leaving very little for roxio to share. upgrade to 1g or 2g if you can to be safe. i have similar problem on mac with roxio toast. tiger hogs lots of memory leaving little for other apps.
my experience with software is to double whatever the requirements are on the box for memory and you should be ok.

I only have 512mb of RAM and work with graphics a lot. So far I haven't had any problems. Just be sure you have closed all other programs. You might even try disabling any fancy screensaver if you use one because this is running in the backgound. I would try this before buying more RAM. Good luck.

Buy another 512 mb of RAM. If you are running XP, you should have at least 1 GB.

some software really requires a large amount of RAM/memory. Read the manual of the software and check its system requirements.
