but is anyone else beginning to find the Religion & Spirituality section to be an extremely depressing site?

To stullerrl: Your service to this country during the Korean War? has earned my respect. May I kindly ask that you read some of my answers to questions in this section, and consider whether you would have given the same response had you done so beforehand. Once again, I am not trying to be a jerk.

To Trashman: Thanks for your response-- I received Christ as my personal Savior while stationed in Guam in May of '82.

yep, been think about leaving it behind. I started out trying to help and wound up shooting at all the jerks, even managed to make some good folk mad.
Some people seem to have a way of dragging the worst out of a person-they have about emptied me out.

It's interesting that I came across your comment because I was ready to sign off for good. I am a Christian that has been providing what I hope are encouraging answers.
( I know not everyone will appreciate them though)

But I have been finding that some of the questions that I try to "scan" over quickly are so disgusting and vulgar that I can't even stand to read them.
The devil is laughing at us Christians that read through these trashy questions.

I believe that this forum is not worth dragging into the mud for. If the Yahoo people can't put a person to block off the filthy piggish comments that some unbelievers make, then
they can have it all.

I can only wish that all those sincere people who have a question re: Christianity will go to a Christian Forum where there is genuine respect and mockers are instantly banned.

I for one have had my fill of this compromising with filth
by reading the garbage in this so-called "religious" forum.

To be here and reading garbage is not God's Perfect Way. So I'm glad that I saw your post because I believe you feel the same way.

It could have been a wondersul site. But all is not lost because there are many many genuine Gospel Christian sites if a person wants to truly fellowship around the Word of God.

As for the others who just come here to mock and fulfill the lusts of Satan...let them be. They have signed over
their soul to Satan and can never come back again.

A sad but true state for the mockers.

Not me. Yet there are people seeking answers who are depressed. Are you depressed?

I look at a question & get an OK in my spirit to answer it. I ask a question & get good answers & maby just one good answer. Sometimes even 5 star answers. Yes, I take some answers with a grain of salt. In the Religion & Spirituality section you have to expect the easily offended to respond as so. It really gives me a clue what or how people think out in the world.

It helps me learn how to organize the answers in my head to write them down. It is therapy for me. And I am learning the truth more clearly for myself.

I can get depressed because someone else is wrong & gets picked as best answer. I can correct it by giving a thumbs down & make a comment.

When a person gives a good answer & appears honest, I'll give a thumbs up. Make a comment to clarify my thoughts on something.

Don't focus on what is depressing you. It doesn't matter so much what others think as much as it matters what God thinks. So just remember, "God loves you sooo much.".

Not at all it's good to know so many people have God on their minds, it could be more spiritual but everybody is not looking for spirituality their looking for religion , i can offer you a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ instead of religion which Christianity isn't it's just been label a religion because their is so many things in this free willing world to put your faith in . So it's not depressing people are really looking for the truth and the website is just another way we can find faith , but realistically faith is a gift from God and it comes by hearing the Word of God, Jesus is standing at your heart's all you have to do is let him in.

Yes, it's always depressing to find so many people who don't actually read and study their Bible, but just spout out what their Sunday School teacher (who is a plumber or used car dealer on weekdays) has told them. Of course, he or she didn't study it either, they just remember what THEIR Sunday School teachers pounded into THEM when THEY were children. There is very little original, thoughtful, considered study of the Bible being done by the majority of answerers here on Yahoo Answers. Of course, the majority of users of Yahoo Answers seem to be children :p

The only good answer to this is why don't you get off it. I have been reminded many times by the un-godly, atheistics on here that this is a free country, and I as a Christian have as much right to voice my opinions. Maybe more so. I fought for this country back in the fifities. What have you done?

The meek will inherit the earth
Psalms 37:29 You will live on the earth forever.
god will remove all wickedness and those who cause it.
Revelation 21 The tent of god will be with mankind and he will reside with them and wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more nor morning nor out cry nor pain anymore.

Most of the really kind and gentle Christians I know don't answer in this category. (I notice that you don't much either). Really, I'm just hoping that this category is only an outlet for angry people to vent, and that it's not a reflection of an average group of people. If it is the latter, I would be quite sad.

It really should be uplifting, otherwise maybe your seeing beyond the simple, and explainable! At times things,life, and all religion offers is depressing if you really look at how it all started, and may end!! got to find solstace in it, and move on.
