Revelation 11:
All of Revelation is in symbolic language. It is picturing a time when the good news of God's kingdom will be preached to all the inhabited earth. Like so many scriptures in Revelation it was borrowed from Matthew 24:14
After the preaching work, the droubt was a spiritual one.
Waters of truth, will go away. Picturing religions going away.
This will cause a spiritual death and as Isaiah said, a famine not for bread or water but for hearing the word of God.

Hello,
Read the Left Behind series--or is that where you learned about the two witnesses? "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days (3.45 to 3.46 years), clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die." NIV Revelation 11:3-6 They cannot be killed, however because it is not yet their time until they have prophesied for repentance [?] those set days. When their time comes and they are killed, but not by men, their bodies will lie uncovered/unburied for three and a half days so that the hard hearted who have not taken this opportunity to turn to Christ will "...gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts..." Then "...a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on." NIV Revelation 11:10:13 Both Moses and Elijah accompanied Jesus at His transfiguration. The NIV suggests it may be Moses and Elijah that are the two witnesses.

I believe the two witnesses are the Bible and the church...the Body of Christ. (No, not the mess you see in the world, the "real" church. Jesus knows who they are.)
That famine for the word of God that Shell spoke about is already beginning. The Bible and the Body are already under attack. The world is already poised and ready to rejoice at their demise. Already we hear the victory cries of the ones who feel tormented by Christianity beginning to sound....
It's OK. It is nearing midnight, and the cry is going out. The Bridegroom cometh!! Soon, the feast begins!!

EDIT: For the love of God, people, turn off that Totally Blasphemous Network and quit putting works of fiction above the Word of God!

they will be way more than cool!
Re 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Re 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Re 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
Re 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
Re 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Re 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Re 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
Re 11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
Re 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Re 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Re 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

I believe he is talking about the two witnesses in "The Left Behind" series, you should really read the book before you start talking about the witnesses, there is a lot more information in this series.

You're right Scott we don't hear alot about it, but then it does take rather mature Spirituality to realize they are even in the scriptures, which is why we probably don't hear too much about it, as well, we who have Jesus Christ as our personal Savior won't be here to hear their testimony anyway!
