I don't' see anything wrong with sponge bob, it's a cartoon for kids, four is the age of a child who would watch sponge bob, I'm very particular about what my kids watch, when they watch a new show, i sit down and watch it with them and i don't' see anything wrong with sponge bob. i have heard people say sponge bob is gay, how silly is that, i think people make too much out of little things, but a child doesn't see war, homosexuality and politics, they see the innocence of things and let's continue to let them be kids and not let them grow up so fast. let kids watch cartoons, that are age appropriate and that are fun..there is nothing wrong with sponge bob and nothing wrong with your child watching it in my opinion.

I personally don't know why anyone would think there was anything wrong with Sponge Bob. The show is really silly and cute and adults can enjoy it along with the kids. Also, if for some reason someone thought there was something inappropriate for kids in the show, a child of four is too young to understand it anyway. I remember watching the Muppet show when I was that age and I totally didn't get ANY of the adult humor, but now when I watch it, it's like a totally different show.
I don't see the harm.

Okay, my oldest girl is 4 yrs old and I hate the show. I just think it is plain silly. Since my children are on a limited tv viewing time (only 1 to 1 1/2 hours a day). I choose their shows carefully. Are they entertaining the children as well as educating them. My girls love Dora the Explorer, Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Club (the newest one) and Scooby Doo (we live really close to Paramounts Kings Island). If they really fell in love with Sponge Bob, I would probably watch it with them a few times (like I did with all their other shows they liked) and then let them choose what they want to watch for their limited tv time. Besides if you don't mind the show and she loves it, then it is ultimately your choice whether she watches it or not.

Sponge Bob is full of sexual innuendos. If you actually pay attention to it you can pick up on them. Some people don't think it's suitable for children because of this factor however children that age don't understand it anyway. I just think there are other things a 4 year old should be doing that watching television anyway...like exercising their imaginations.

Personally, I think sponge bob has a lot of bad influences on children. But your child, being 4, may not understand the things that older people see in it. I personally think its not a good show, but it is quite funny sometimes, but that's because i know whats right and wrong. Your child, being 4, probably doesn't know. Like i see a lot of them in underwear, and showing their bottoms, in episodes, and you child may conclude to that as being ok to do. But it does teach friendship sometimes. So its a parents choice whether to let you child watch it or not. I would let my child prolly around ages 6-8 to start watching it so that they have already learned what is right and whats wrong. o and also, there are like ghosts and stuff in it sometimes, so it depends on how your child reacts with the show.

My daughter is almost 4 and has been watching SB since she was 20 months. SHE LOVES HIM. I find nothing wrong with him. I have a friend that won't allow it either...and I just don't know why. He's just silly. And BTW, I have 2 younger sons that also watch. My 2 yr old has been watching pretty much since he was watching TV because my daughter loves to watch it. And now my youngest (9 months) will be doing the same. My husband and I also watch with them. Sometimes I hear some weird things, but believe me--it's going over my kids heads. And even my 6 and 8 yr old nephews. Also, my older two have pajamas, sweathshirts, toothbrushes, sippy cups, plates, spoons....you name it. Which brings me to my final point....they have product out there for their age group...so ask your friend if that is wrong.

Oh I can not stand Sponge Bob.
My toddler likes it because her older siblings watch it. But there is nothing really "bad" about it. Besides him being annoying.
I think the littler kids like it because it's colorful and fast moving.

Kids of all ages love "Bob". As my son calls him. He just started watching it @ 2 1/2 yrs old. I didn't introduce T.V. until now anyway. I try to limit the Bob watching. I like it also.LOL
