the statement "There is no way of knowing the truth" is self-defeating, which thereby makes it of no value

I don't believe that statement is true. Take a court case where the jury has to decide guilt or innocence based only on circumstantial evidence. Ultimately the jury is making an educated guess- there is no way to tell with100% certainty if the defendant is guilty. They were not there, they did not see the defendant commit the crime. HOWEVER- since the defendant knows whether he/she committed the crime or not, he/she has a way to know the truth. They were there. They know if they did it or not, so that statement is true in some instances but it is not true in others.

In general, if you experience it, you know that it's true.
Sorry others ridiculed your question. It's a good question.

Pilate asked that of Jesus.

From Jesus you will hear the truth. Start reading about Jesus from the view of all the disciples.

Once you see the truth, once you hear the truth, once your read the truth, once you understand it, then you will know!

This goes beyond what many here say. It goes beyond merely accepting Jesus as your personal lord and savior, although that's a part of it.

It's about how Jesus said to behave. How he showed us how to behave. But that's only a part of it.

Jesus said we have the power within us to do almost anything. All we have to be is believe. Have faith. Strong faith.

And that's only a part of it.

Here's a truth that maybe you can graps easly. Jesus said we have to be like little children.

You remember was being 4, 5 or 6 was about!? You had an imaganation. There were no great rules. You didn't have to go to work. You woke up and just lived all day.

Remember what it was like the first day of summer vaction when you slept in late, woke up when you felt like it and the wind was blowing warmly through the windows.

That is a small part of truth.

Read, learn, experience, believe, have faith and you will eventually see the truth.

LEarn from JEsus, not man!

Man will only give you their view of the truth!

Jesus is the way and the light.

Read JEsus from all the Disciples.

The views of Jesus are written by men, so you're going to have to separate the wheat from the chaff

i think there is a way of knowing the truth. nothing other than the word of truth: the bible. it tells me everything i need to know. i believe that i know the absoloute truth. if it, in fact, turns out that i was wrong my whole life and there really is nothing after death, then my life was none the worse for it. what did i lose? i had a purpose in my life, i was held to a moral standard. i would rather follow now and to later learn that there is no god, than to not follow and later learn that there is.

correct> we all have relative truths that pertain to our lifes. Yet, there is an absolute truth that pertains to everyone. The reason for this is because...if I say that" all truth is absolute", then it doesn't contradict itself and makes sense, but if I say that "truth is relative", that would make it an absolute statement, therefore contradict itself and not work. For this reason the real "truth" does exist> (my belief is that it's Jesus Christ)

There are some who can not when they hear the truth tell that it is!
They generally start with What is Truth.

If one can not tell what the truth is when it is spoken, I feel very sorry for them.
