Spread Bay Leaves in your cupboards..You can find them in the spice isle of your grocery store.. Store rice, instant potatoes and what not in plastic rubbermaid type containers with tight lids.. You get what you pay for..Chances are you got infested by buying some food that was already infested, such as rice, flour, instant potatoes etc.... Also try to shop in a supermarket that is well kept.. If your grocery store has opened food on the shelves, then you should really assume that it is going to attract some bugs and they could already be infesting some of the food that is on there..
So you need a fresh start.. Clean out your cupboards. Throw any thing in the garbage that you currently have that is infested with weavels.. Wash down your cuboards with warm water mixed with a small amount of rubbing alcohol (to sanitize) because there is likely food and weavel powder or weavel eggs(which is hard to see).. Any food that you currently have that is boxed, put it in plastic sealable containers or ziplock baggies... Spread bay leaves around on each shelf.. that will help you kind of start over. .The best way to get rid of them is to try to protect your food to begin with..
This will help you in the future to prevent infestation.. Being aware while your grocery shopping is the key to being infestation free.. Look for tiny holes in the box.. Or if the box has a small bend in it or a tear, don't buy it.. The smallest dent on a box is an easy way in for a tiny burrowing bug..
I wish you luck, but you don't need it, once you clean up and start over, it will be easy to maintain!

Ungh! Weevils are miserable little critters to get rid of. If they are in your dry goods, just chuck everything out, and if they are in the shelves, you might have to get a fumigator in to make sure they are cleared out, otherwise they'll invade whatever you put back on the shelves. Don't know if something like Raid would work or not, but you might want to give it a try before you go the fumigator route.
Some grocery stores have weevil problems too, especially in things like pancake mix and cake mix.
When you re-stock your cupboard, invest in some glass or plastic containers with screw tops or snap tops, and put all your dry goods in them.
Grocery stores don't usually have open packages of dry goods, and any spillage is cleared up promptly, which is why they don't have weevil problems. Stores that aren't so conscientious about cleanups do tend to have problems, especially in warmer climates.
Good luck with it!

the stores don't keep from getting them. Half the time you don't know it, but when you bring it home they are already in there. But, when at home and open something (such as) Instant mashed potatoes, place them in the fridge once opened. To clean out your cupboard, just use some bleach and water to wipe it all down. Also I don't know if you know it or not, but they can get into your mac & cheese too. Good Luck

They more than likely came from the grocery store in the food that you bought. Throw it away and start over.

Weevils, or cockroaches? Cockroaches lay eggs in cardboard, so get rid of all the cardboard and put the food in plastic sealing containers. That might help. I think weevils bore into trees.

we have that problem, they will never die because they have a outer shell and a inner shell, so when u smash the outter shell, it come out of it and still have its inner shell, then grows another inner shell, the only way to get rid of them is to get a pest control and spray the house!!
