If Islam is so great, why aren't there more extremists?

I. Al qaeda has over 10,000 known operatives world-wide, not to mention the fact that they have autonomous underground cells in some 100 countries. Plus they are responsible for some of the most horrific attacks of terrorism in modern history. Here are just a few:

1. The Sept. 11 attacks which killed over 3,000 innocent
people.

2. The kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter
Daniel Pearl, and numerous bombings in Pakistan.

3. The El Ghriba synagogue bombing in Djerba, Tunisia,
which killed 21.

4. A November 2002 car bombing in Mombasa, Kenya, and
an attempt to shoot down an Israeli airliner.

5. Bombings of Western compounds in Riyadh in May
2003 and other attacks of the Saudi insurgency.

6. The Istanbul bombings in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2003.

7. Almost daily suicide attacks on innocent civilinas in Iraq.

II. Hamas, an West Bank based islamic terrorist group, has tens of thousands of sympythizers in the MIddle East,and Overall, from November 2000 to April 2004, 377 Israeli citizens and soldiers were killed and 2,076 wounded in 425 attacks by Hamas.

III. Hezbollah numbers are around 3000 in Southern Lebanon, which is more than enought to commit some of the most vicious islamic terrorist attacks.In fact here is a list of some of there most prominent attacks.

1. July 18, 1994: Suicide bombing of AMIA Jewish Center in
Argentina: 87 killed, 300 injured.

2. March 17, 1992: Suicide bombing of Israeli Embassy in
Argentina: 29 killed, over 250 injured.

3. October 23, 1983: Suicide bombing of the U.S. Marine
barracks in Beirut: 241 marines killed.

IV. Islamic Jihad, a 30 year old Islamic terrorist group, is world renowned for their vicious attacks.

1. October 4, 2003: Suicide bombing at Maxim restaurant in
Haifa 22 killed, 60 wounded.

2. June 5, 2002: Suicide bombing at Meggido junction, Israel
18 killed, 50 injured.

3. March 4, 1996: Suicide bombing at Dizengoff shopping
mall in Tel Aviv 13 killed, 75 injured

So trust me, there are enough Islamic extremists out there as it is.

Because the Vast Majority of Muslims are really good People that deplore Violence and Hatred. It's only the Radical Extremist Minority that give the rest a bad Name. Remember, Hitler didn't Drink, Smoke, or Curse, and considered Himself a Fine, Upstanding Christian. What if all Christians were judged by His Conduct ? Religion has long been used to foster Violence and Hatred. If the Vast, Peaceful Majority of Islamists could somehow calm down the Extremists, they would all fare so much better. Will that ever happen, or is it going to take WW III ? They have to make that Choice.
