Can he physically come forth as an person and punch us in the face? I think he only entices us to do evil, otherwise he is like a non-existant being. What do you think? (state your religion)

Satan only has power over you if you let him. He may not be able to personally punch you in your face but he can entice someone else to do it. Which makes him the one punching you right? But once again he only has as much power over you as you let him. If you believe in God then When you feel yourself thinking evil things or doing things you know aren't things God wants you to do then you can Just rebuke him in the name of Jesus and he will flee from you and you can ask God to forgive you for the things you almost let the devil entice you into doing. By the way I am Pentecostal

I am a christian. When I was 17 years old I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. I don't believe in religion, but I believe in a personal relationship with Christ. Satan is very real and does have real powers. However if you have Jesus, Satan is powerless. I don't think he will physically come to you and punch you in the face, but tempt others to do so.

Yes, he could punch you in the face if he wanted. He is a living physical being. But he has more important people to work on though. He would more likely be working on a world leader that on a yahoo. Satan is not omnipresent. He can only be in one place at a time.

Christian- Satan has power and authority over his world, because he has made it what it is, and controls those who love it. and the world loves those who love the world. the world hates those who love the Lord. its nice to have the world hate me, even though it is hard on me, i like it, because it is then i know i am following Christ. Satan comes in many forms, He can come on the form of an angel, or even a frog or lizard (mormans im looking your way).... Satan has different ways of punching people in the face, but yes, i am sure he has punched someone physically in the face, after all he is most unclean and horrible. Satan is not non-existant, he's as real as the pain u feel when u get punched in the face, as horrible as he is... look on the bright side,....he...will die :)

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

I know satan exists, just like God the Almighty exists. Even God said He created Him. Yes he is "The Tempter".
The Bible describes him well and he has his little imps(demons) who do his bidding. Satan knows your needs and he tempts you at your greatest point of need. And then he rushes you. He makes you feel anxious. Satan is the author of Confussion. He likes it when your confused so you are not assertive. Weak Mindedness is his specialty. Yes, people can become possessed to due his bidding. I once had to cast a demon out of a boy. He heard those annoying voices in his head that were telling him to hurt himself and to run.

He has all power right now when God allows it. Go ahead and read JOB it is fasinating.
Re 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Re 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
2co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Satan has tremendous power, but he cannot go any further than what God allows him.

Satan is NOT omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, etc., etc.

1Jo 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

there is an exciting tale interior the Bible whilst Jesus takes his 2 closest Apostles up a mountain and whilst they are there, they talk with angels and adventure some exceptionally astonishing issues. and then Jesus does something extremely exciting... He tells them to not tell each and every guy or woman approximately it. I certainly have considered the comparable coverage in those modern-day days. those i comprehend of who've considered miracles (myself lined) basically talk approximately their studies with those very on the component to them and at very particular cases. it quite is because of the solemn sacredness of them. on the different hand, the devil shouts each and every victory from the rooftops like a affordable circus magician. God's skill remains very genuine and greater helpful than the devil's. however the devil works with the loads and God works with the guy.

Satan can.
Change water to wine
Part water even the ocean
Walk on water
Make it rain from a clear sky
Make lightning strike from a clear sky
He can darken the sky, sun, moon, stars
He can take a piece of bread and feed 10,000
To his own he can heal, or make sick
Blind to see, or make blind
Lame to walk, or make lame
He has much power over his
To me he can not even muss my hair!
