When a Christian asks a question, just out of curiousity, about another religion no one implies that they are, in their heart, unsatisfied or questioning their own religion (unless it is obvious and stated within the question they asked).
Yet when a non-Christian asks a question, just out of curiousity, about a Christian belief or something that is in the bible, then it is assumed the non-Christian is having second thoughts about their religion and chosen beliefs or that they are unsure and just confused?
Why the double standard?

Forgive me, I did not mean to imply that all Christians do this. If it offended you, then I do apologize.
Sometimes my fingers and my brain aren't on the same wavelength when I am typing.

Chris p, I ask about other religions because I am curious. If there is ever the day we stop striving for knowledge, then we will indeed be a poor people.
Asking about another's religion doesn't mean that I am insecure about my own faith just like asking about another's car doesn't mean I want to buy it!

No offense taken.
I'm going to be guessing here.
I think its about the FEELING that they have to save everyone before the bell rings. and then count there coupe.
I'm a little hard here, but its not the way it should be done. You are to scatter seed and the lord makes it grow. But some think that they are to plow the field with a bull dozier first.
Then pound the seed in deep!

No worries. But it does say in the Bible to go out and spread the word, and some Christians chase converts down like a greyhound after the stuffed bunny! It's beyond my comprehension as to WHY they're so zealous about converting people( my guess is mental instability), it's not like they get brownie points for each converted soul (or do they?).But a fair amount of Christians are just so dead set on the "we're right, everyone else is wrong" thing that they naturally assume curiosity implies they have 'seen the light' and want to convert.

You are mass generalizing. Not every Christian takes this approach with every thing. So to indicate a double standard on all of Christianity, or even most, I would say would be false. Also, why is it that atheists or agnostics rarely deal with evidence? They usually just scoff and try to find "double standards."

I have to ask, why would you ask about anther's religion?
If in fact you are a Christian, and subject to doubts as we all are.
Let us look at John the Baptist.
There he was full of fire and power. He identified Jesus twice as the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
Then he was imprisoned. He then sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus if He was the One.
Is it not interesting that the view changes as the situation changes?
I for one have been exposed to the power of saying something and been put to the test to see if I really believed it.
Curiosity is one of the factors of being human. I WANT TO KNOW! It rings in our beings. It is the upward calling to know the Truth.
We all want to know.
Why is it that there is an inner wanting to know the future?
It's built into us.
Your question is based on your view point.
My answer is based on my view point.
Can there be a correlation of the two?

I don't get out enough I guess to see all that going on.
I hope the non-christian doesn't go through enough persecution to stop them in their endeavor.
I hope they get the knowledge necessary for them the accept Christ.

There are more Christians there to criticize others.
There are arrogant people in every religion.
