Yes they do have nightmares. They also talk in their sleep, whine, and growl. If you watch them...their little eye lids twitch also. If they are mistreated, or beaten, or kicked around....they will constantly have nightmares.

yes they do. I have a dog that chases cats in his sleep. moving his paws and growling. He also does this when he is awake at least when he is awake he is inside of the fence. Took him to the vet for this and they said that dogs dream just like we do,

They are emotional creatures and sleep serves them the same way it serves us humans.

It's too bad they can talk our language and tell us what they are thinking. We have to learn their language and then we have a good idea.

I know it seems like it sometimes. My collies used to sleep on their sides and their legs would go like they were running and they would yip like they were chasing a rabbit or something.
