Wrong question to start with. "Why do uneducated people use the expression 'awesome'?"
Answer: Cuz they want to. Uneducated people have nothing to do with the use of this expression.

Awesome is more of a word than an expression. They use it for the same reason a person uses any other word. To convey its meaning. I'm a grad student and I use the word.

Every generation has had words to express the highs and the lows of life, like swell, hip, groovy, fabo, mondo, da-bomb and droll, scamming, sucky, etc. Awesome has stuck around for more than a couple of decades now. I think that word is PURA VIDA!!

It's one of those typically misused words that mean, often, the opposite like using 'Wicked' to describe something good.

Awesome means :'Full of awe, inspiring awe, weird, dreadful.

Awe is, generally meant to describe a fear, wonder or dread, to strike with or influence fear and was mean to describe man's fear of God in Biblical times when God would speak directly to them.

Nowadays the young use it to describe anything impressive or huge.

I'm educated...and I say it sometimes. I also say dude but have a college degree.

What should be deleted from many a person's vocabulary is "like."

Cuz that's, like, a stupid word to use.
