There's never any major voice from Islam telling them to stop, just like no voice from Islam denounces the terrorism being done worldwide in the name of their religion. But they say this is the True religion, so how can they let such attrocities happen within their religion and stay silent?
Far more Sunnis and Shiites have died in Baghdad and Iraq in the last few years than the whole Northern Ireland conflict -- yet in that situation the leaders took an active stance to make it stop.

Because Sunnis and Shiites are Human Beings. And why are you surprised about the behaviour of these religious people ? There were a lot of examples along the Human History about the stupidity of the extremist religious people (Christian, Jews, Islam people, etc. ) The theories of the religions are from God, but when People put in practise the theory , usually use it for their own power.

I'm respectful about the religion theme , I don't agree on extreme ideologies.

the sectarian killing is common everywhere, not just in Islam but in all other religions. so don't be specific about Islam in this regard, otherwise it would like as an abusive question against a peaceful religion. however, those who kill anyone for the sake of changing other's religion are NOT muslims and there is no such reference in any Islamic book about that. Rather there is a verse in Quran that says "anyone who kills even a single person innocently, kills the whole humanity". so, try to re-phrase your questions more kindly and gently instead of labelling it alone with islam. and don't watch too much CNN/BBC they are controlled by JEWS, watch something neutral.

America is supposed to be a God fearing country and yet we kill each other by the thousands every year, we molest children, we rape our women, we have people living in shameful poverty, we have children starving, we have millions of homeless people,,,,,,,,we had a hurricane and waited 7 days before our government sent help.
Are we really any better then these countries? I don't think so.

For the same reason any other groups do. They have been taught HATE all their lives. An 'us' versus 'them' mentality. People only know what they have been taught. If that is only war and killing, then they do not know peace and understanding. If you would change the world, you must change only one person.....Yourself. Be Blessed.
