We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die, because they are never going to be born. We are privileged to be alive, and we should make the most of our time on this world.

It sounds something like the "Fourth Way" concept of the mystic Gurdjieff ... the view that most people are programmed and virtually asleep, and that the essential task is to "remember oneself" and thereby wake from the slumber and begin cultivation of the "soul" ... the analogy was made between the human being and a poorly-managed chemical factory: most of the valuable "product" gets wasted in accidents within the plant, sort of explosions of anger and misguided emotions. It is that subtle "product", however, of which the "soul" is born and develops. In other words, most people live lives of the stillborn, unless by chance or design, they are awakened into a higher level of life. It's an intriguing concept, certainly ...

well since we love and believe in Jesus Christ, why would we be sad to physically die? WE WOULD GO TO PARADISE WITH OUR CREATOR!! how great would that be?? when the quote said, " most people are never going to die, because they are never going to be born ...im not sure if ur talking about abortiion, but ill rephrase that lil part there with this : Most people are going to die twice, they are going to wish they had never been born. WE are PRIVILEDGED to be alive physically because we can now believe the truth and accept an eternal life, as long as we believe and we should try to make the most of our time devoting ourselves to God, because He made love and happiness, what all humans need.

Dying is a blessing. If we were immortal, we would be destined to relive experiences over and over for all eternity. Because our existance is doomed, every moment is more beautiful.

Living is a blessing. I'd say most people are never born not physically, but spiritually or emotionally or otherwise. Existing without living is common though. Living for the moment is what everyone should do because we will never be here, now, ever again.

It means:

The person writing it was really, really STONED. Lets PARAPHRASE HERE:

#1. "we're going to die, we're the lucky ones" hmm, okay, Borderline Personality Disorder, or just Lithium Flashback, you be the judge.
#2. "most people aren't alive because they were never born" There are SOO many things wrong with this, he has to be a druggie or a rabid christian. For pities sake, I'll go with druggy.
#3. "we're "privileged" to be alive, let's make our most of it" in other words, LETS GET HIGH!

What do you mean by "most people?" And if someone is never born and never dies can they really qualify as people? What differentiates people that are never born and porcupines that are never born, how does one tell the difference? And what does this have to do with religion and spirituality exactly?

It means those who allow themselves to change and those who reinvent themselves are the lucky ones because, with the change comes a new way of seeing. Most people resist change and do not allow themselves to be open to new possibilities.. if you are not changing and growing and being "reborn".. we are not "alive" in the sense of having a direct experience of life. I take exception with "should make the most..."...if you are are changing and embracing life.. you are making the most.

It's not even religious, it's spiritual and to me it is about self awareness and that those of us who are self aware realise that we have not got an infinite future. We should be the change we want to see in the world instead of waiting around on someone else to make it happen,

That is a Richard Dawkins quote.

I stick with scripture, and anything that supports scripture.

And there is some in his quote that can support the Bible.

Thank You

it means that a life is a precious thing and we need to value each and every one. It also means that we should live life to the fullest, and die without regret.
