No one told Jesus that was God, he know it from the beginning of time.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.
John 10:30
I and my Father are one.
Joseph was NOT the father of Jesus Christ.
No body came up with the story, Mary was a virgin just as the Bible declares:
Matthew 1:18-25
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
verse 23 refers to Isaiah 7:14 (Isaiah speaking to King Ahaz)
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Jesus Isn't God,
Jesus Is The Son Of God.
According to Matthew and Luke, Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea to Mary, a virgin, by a miracle of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel of Luke gives an account of the angel Gabriel visiting Mary to tell her that she was chosen to bear the Son of God (Luke 1:26–38). Catholics call this event the Annunciation. According to Luke, an order of Caesar Augustus forced Mary and Joseph to leave their homes in Nazareth and come to the home of Joseph's ancestors, the house of David, to be counted in the census. After Jesus' birth, the couple used a manger for a crib because there was no room for them in the town's inn (or family guest room, depending on which translation from Greek is used) (Luke 2:1–7). According to Luke, an angel proclaimed Jesus' birth to shepherds who came to see the newborn child and subsequently publicized what they had witnessed throughout the area (see The First Noël). Matthew also tells of the "Wise Men" or "Magi" who brought gifts to the infant Jesus after following a star which they believed was a sign that the Messiah, or King of the Jews, had been born.
Jesus' childhood home is stated in the Bible to have been the town of Nazareth in Galilee, and aside from a flight to Egypt in infancy to escape Herod's Massacre of the Innocents (Matthew 2:13–23) and a short trip to Tyre and Sidon (Matthew 15:21–28; Mark 7:24–30), all other events in the Gospels are set in ancient Israel. Luke's Finding in the Temple (Luke 2:41–52) is the only event between Jesus' infancy and adult life mentioned in any of the canonical Gospels, although New Testament apocrypha fill in the details of this time, some quite extensively.

No Joseph was not his father. But he did raise him
Jesus was transferred from heaven into the womb of a virgin girl.
Mary never mess around. to be born on the earth as a man.
I am sure they related to him the details of his birth, maybe he always knew he was an angel from heaven.
Surely he knew he was the first creature ever created by the Almighty. Collosians 1 says he was first and by means of him all other things were created in heaven and earth.
The experience taught him what it would be like to be born into the world, as a human.

Actually some one spent 30 years convincing him. Read about that 30 years in the Bible. Oh wait, I forgot, those 30 years are somehow missing.
