That depends. Are you in high school? If so I would be careful. High school is a closed community so anything that happens gets around quickly and it can be devestating. I would feel this person out first and see how they react. If your not in high school then totally go for it! People have a tendency to be more mature in the "real world" and if they don't feel the same way you don't have to avoid the cafeteria for a month.

It depends on what you want to happen. Is this person dating someone? If so, it's probably not appropriate. Are they single and do you want to go out with them? Why not ask them out. To go up and say, "I have a crush on you" is maybe a little creepy and stalkerish but there are ways that you can let them know that you're interested while being casual.

It seems like one way or the other they always find out. You might as well go for it...It seems like a waste of time to just crush on someone when they might like you back. If they dont, its no big deal. There are plenty of people and one will be the right one for you. Things work out the way they should.
