I wouldn't ever take the money, either.
But I do know two people who have been affected my this type of decision. One is a woman whose father abandoned her when she was a child. When she was 20, her grandfather (her father's dad) offered her a substantial amount of money to completely walk away from her family, and she did it. The money is long gone, and she's a very lonely person.
The other is a woman whose father was an accountant for a criminal back in the early 80s. The criminal offered him $750,000 to completely walk away from all his family and never turn back. The criminal didn't want him to be able to testify against him in court. He took the money, left his wife and kids a note explaining his decision, and walked away. No one in his entire extended family has heard from him since, but I know his daughter would like very much to have a long talk with him, then have at him with a baseball bat. He ruined a lot of lives.

Well, sometimes I wish I could pay 1 million dollars to not have to speak to certain family members agian--but I'm a Muslim and we're not allowed to disown our family...
So, no, because of my Islamic beliefs, I would not take the 1 million

I wish I had a choice like this. I'd gladly turn down the $1 million. But more importantly, do you appreciate your family now? Do you show them your appreciation?
Sometimes, we don't until it's too late.

you should rewrite your question
the choices you give are
1) see my family and keep the money
2) lose both the family and the money
Its obvious those are not the choices you meant to give
ok my answer id take the family .
