I was wondering if they are exactly the same in other part of the world?

I think they taste different. A lot of places even have different menu items in other countries-- In Paraguay, Pizza Hut has pizza with hot dogs in the crust!

I didn't think there was much difference. The thing I liked was the McDonalds places overseas have extra stuff on the menu to cater towards local tastes, like oriental noodles. I wish they had some of that here, to alleviate the boredom of the same old selections. You can get a burger anywhere, but they could have other choices less ordinary.

Not quite guaranteed to taste the same. Despite much of the food being sourced from the parent country, local supplies get in too, maybe lettuce, potatoes, etc. Even the bread taste different at times.

What makes the chains so irresistible in another culture (when Americans are visiting) is that the ordering process is the same, the link between what you expect and what you get is not broken, etc.

no, in Jamaica they sell fried chicken at McDonalds. but it was really good.. In France, the fries at the McDonalds were disgusting. I guess they use different grease. But I ate at Pizza Hut in both and that tasted exactly the same. Also, fast food restuarants are a lot more expensive outside of the U.S. I'd stick to local food, they know how to cook that better and it will taste better there and be cheaper than buying it in the U.S.

I went to McDonald's and KFC and Pizza Hut in Shanghai, China and they were MUCH better!!!!! KFC actually had the best fries ever!!! The small shoestring fries, totally fried in probably coconut oil, the ones they discontinued in the states about 10 years ago!!!!
And the menu items were different. McDonald's had like a 5 piece and 7 piece McWings instead of McNuggets: very weird.

No! The first time I went to McDonalds in Canada it tasted sooo different to me....I hated it! And when my friend from Canada came to the US he didn't like the McDonalds here. So I think fast food places adapt to the country that they are in

No, they aren't. They cater to the local palate. Even within the US, there are differences. In Hawaii, for instance, you can get Spamburgers. They're very fond of Spam there, and use it in all sorts of things. But you won't find one on the mainland.
In Paris, there is a McD at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Big difference there is they serve beer with their burgers!

They taste the same. When I was over in Toulan, France, a few of the guys in my platoon (Marines) and I, went to a MacDonald and order pretty much the same sandwich. But what I found cool was that you can order BEER with your Big Mac. It was pretty flat but we ordered it just to say we had beer at MacDonald's. Pretty cool....
